Ages ago someone sent me via email vagcom version release 3112n2 as the file is called.

Used to be able to do everything with it on my old laptop which ran XP service pack 3.

On this new laptop it installs but if i try opening it it says didn't install properly and asks if i want to install using recommended settings.. even if i choose yes to that it still refuses to work.. in the details it says failed to open due to APPCRASH ? Doing my head in now it just does not work full stop on Windows 7..:(

This may not work but try right clicking on the icon for Vagcom , choose Properties from the menu , then click compatibility tab. select "run this program in compatibility mode for:" and make sure XP Service Pack 3" is selected. Then Apply and OK.

Again, it prolly won't work but it's worth a shot until you get a better answer.

Version 311.2 was released in 2003. Windows 7 was released when? After 2007.... good answer.

311.2 is no longer supported nor is it Windows 7 compatible. Why don't you download VCDS-Lite and run it in shareware mode? That is free and it is Windows 7 compatible.

It should work with your wire... you may have to get a driver for your wire from your wire source.
