Hi everyone,
(seat ateca 2017 DDYA))
I’ve been trying to disable the low tyre pressure warning for months now, but it’s impossible! I have to use VCDS every time to clear and reset the warning!
I don’t have the original car radio, which is why I’m trying to disable this low tyre pressure warning.
I haven’t found anything matching my search in VCDS, and the forums where I’ve posted my problem haven’t yielded any results!

Another strange thing I’ve noticed is that module 5F is inaccessible to me – why is that? Every time I try to access 5F, I get the message ‘ECU not responding or absent’?
Why am I looking in module 5F? In case there’s an option to disable the indirect tyre pressure monitoring.
I’ve only tested one option in module 17 – unchecking the tyre option – but that wasn’t enough.
Thank you for your help.

I am guessing you cant see 5F as that is the Multimedia system (eg Radio etc) which you no longer have

Afraid I dont have an Attica in my OBD11 Garage but on the leon under control unit 17, long coding there is an option to turn off Tire Pressure Monitoring Display (set to yes change to No)

Hi,
Actually, I already did that!
In module 17, I unchecked the tire option,
but after confirming and restarting, the tire pressure sensor was still showing a fault three days later. I reconnected the VCDS for a check, and the option is indeed unchecked in module 17, so
there must be something else storing the “indirect flat tire detection” option in memory.

Just to clarify: warning light, warning light cleared, warning light reset (vcds) , no warning light, then 2 or 3 days later while driving, low tire pressure warning! Checked tire pressure—pressure is fine!

Hi,
As I mentioned earlier, the system is controlled by the original ECU (indirect mode).
Only the original car radio could reset the system.
As I wrote above, I no longer have the original car radio; I’ve fitted a Chinese car radio in its place, (no regrets! It’s 100 times better)
and the radio and steering wheel controls work very well!
It’s just this tyre pressure monitoring option that’s bothering me! I’d like to get rid of it.

If you’ve only adjusted the coding for TPMS in the instrument cluster then that’s your issue. It’s controlled by the ABS

You’ve fitted a Chinese radio - explains why you can’t connect to 5F (it isn’t installed)

Hi,
No, no changes were made beforehand, apart from the resets after the oil change.
OK, regarding the inaccessible 5F module (the original car radio has been removed)...OK..
but my current issue is to completely clear the low tyre pressure warning; I don’t want this ‘problematic’ feature anymore. My tyres are at the correct pressure, yet it’s still showing a fault! ,,,??

For you

Control Unit 03 > Coding > ...

> Byte 27 > Deactivate Bit 5

> Byte 28 > Deactivate Bit 7

Not for you

Control Unit 5F > Adaptation > ...

> Channel "Vehicle Function List BAP- tire_pressure_system_0x07" > Set value to "inactive"

> Channel "Vehicle Menu Operation-

menu_display_rdk" > Set value to "inactive"

> Channel "Vehicle Menu Operation-

menu_display_rdk_over_threshold_high" > Set value to

"inactive"

For you

Control Unit 17 > Coding > Byte 04 > Deactivate Bit 0 ("Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)")

TPMS is located in the ABS module. Needs removing from the coding

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your help. (I’ve been looking for a solution for months.)

Here’s a video showing a full test of modules 03/17/19/05.

I should point out that I had disabled bit 4 in module 17.

I re-enabled it as it wasn’t working any better.

The problem is, are bits 27 and 28 in module 03 already disabled? Or not?

Hi,

I have to admit, after seeing your post, I thought my troubles were over!

Wrong!...

I tried this afternoon, several times, but I couldn’t recode “03”!

I started to doubt my VCI (never used it for coding, just for clearing errors or resetting service intervals... unofficial equipment)

but maybe I’m just doing something wrong? (security code 20103)

Every time I try to code it, I get the same message:

"you haven't entered a new code
if you're using Lcode, check that you've closed it properly"

Hi,

I was starting to doubt my equipment, and then my own mental faculties?

After a good night’s sleep, things are better!

I was just about to get in touch with you online about this issue!

Luckily, I’ve sorted the problem out thanks to you!

In the video below, I’d done ABS module 03 but hadn’t done module 17 (I forgot)

When I turned the ignition back on, the tyre warning light came on??…

By modifying module 17 (instruments), it’s sorted!

Everything’s fine thanks to your very clear and precise explanations,

(it’s rare to find this kind of highly skilled help in forums

without any unnecessary chatter; gentlemen, you’re true professionals, thank you.

Of course, the ideal solution would have been to fit a flat tyre reset button; that was my original idea,

but given the apparent complexity of the job and the lack of information, I gave up!

Thank you and my sincere congratulations on your expertise.

Hi,
Can I share a link to your forum?
(This post) I’m mentioning it elsewhere (on another foreign forum), and I’ve asked the moderator of that forum if I’m allowed to share a link to another forum; I’m waiting for a reply. This forum deserves to be known!
