so what happened when it went 2L?
8v AGG 120 'ish bhp, 130 'ish torque
16v ABF 150 'ish torque ??
not exactly big power per litre

even my pre-V-tec M-rtec '91 Beat came with 100bhp/L from new
OK so it's only 660cc and now 20yrs later has 60 left , torque is non-existent...45lb/ft means you have to work it but its part of the fun with n/a engines

there's no such thing as 'better', just different, i love my 2CV's engine just as much as the FR's CR170

The 2L was a poop but the older 1.8 was good, I ripped off a few v-tecs in my old Mr2 with a 1.6! Even the crappy old rover 1.4 twin cam jobby had 100 bhp easy and just like the v-tec you had to try and murder it to get the poke.:D

Honda's have transmission losses that us seat owners would die for. Not to mention the handling on a stock ITR makes a Leon look like a barge.

When did i imply that?

After i commented on some key plus points of honda's, you remarked that I should go buy one. I was mearly pointing out some plus points of honda's, fortunately I had the intellect to be able to appreciate other cars, and not live in a blinkered world believing that what ever car I am currently driving is the best thing on the road. I am allowed to own a seat, yet still apreciate the workings of a Honda. Thus meaning, I do not wish to purchase one because I said good things about it.

Then why suggest I go buy one?

"Honda's have transmission losses that us seat owners would die for" if you would die for it why wouldnt you buy one? "Not to mention the handling on a stock ITR makes a Leon look like a barge" Why would you want a car that looks like a barge?

The thing is v-tec is over rated, it's not some miracle power demon, it's just a gimmick to allow the engine to rev higher more efficiently, I reckon if you took all the v-tec stuff and threw it away the car would feel more or less the same. That's the main point I would make anyway, I'm not saying hondas are all crap or their engines, I just don't feel particulary tickled by v-tec.:)

i owned a 58 plate fd2 before i changed to a 2011 leon fr 170 and i miss my honda big time,ok the diesel leon has lots of low down tourqe and is pretty nippy but compared to the fd2 it is really borring to drive, just a pitty it wasnt practical for my daily drive to work.
