I went from a 243bhp mk3 ibiza cupra to a civic type R.
The CTR is so much more fun imo. Obviously not as quick but they aren't as slow as people think.
I love Vtec and do miss the boost. Maybe Il turbo my civic for the best of both lol.

because of these idiots is a big reason why I chose my LCR over buying a CTR. i was very tempted to buy one otherwise.Great all round car that handles awesome.
As for VTec its an awesome piece of enginering yet quite simple.
Hondas also respond extremely well to Turbo or supercharing, my friend Dan was one of the first to Turbo a b16 CRX over 10 years ago and has only just recently took the engine out for a rebuild as 10years+ worth of hard driving abuse has started to take its toll. He is now going big build and hoping for 600WHP, and during those 10years he hardly had any real issues and never any bloody boost leaks from silly vac pipes lol. There is no way a 1,8T would take abuse for that long.
And fitting a VTec to a 1.8T. Well anything is possible if your pockets are deep enough, but we all no that in reality its a bit silly lol
disagree about the 1.8t taking abuse for that long there are plenty of 1.8ts with over 200k on the clock besides the 1.8t engines are under more presure due to the torque

To overtake something on a motorway if i'm doing 60 in 6th requires me to drop 3 gears if i'm going to make any progress past something - and that means using VTEC which means the engine must be spinning at or about 5500rpm. So yes, when i overtake someone, it sounds like i'm thrashing it which compared to most stuff which runs out of revs at 6krpm .... mine is just opening up for the 2nd round of playtime
