That does look like a Cupra-R. Just make sure you read the V5 logbook as it will say it on there.
RobM - I didn't know the remap for £500 on a Cupra-R takes the car up to 250bhp. Is this under the Revo Stage 1 or are we looking at a Stage 2 or 3 for this kind of power? If it is just £500 for a Revo Stage 1, I may actually save up a little and get a 210bhp Cupra-R (instead of the Cupra) and spend another £500 for this power outage. Rock on.
Revo Stage 1 claims 265bhp, in reality expect a little less than that depending on which Dyno you're on. Other Stage 1 remaps are similar and most produce the same sort of results. Expect 250-260bhp in reality. Some rolling roads will tell you more, but that's realistically what you can expect

I originally thought I should get the early Cupra and then the facelift Cupra and now I will have to save up for a 210bhp Cupra-R and then cough up another £500 to boost it further. I should stop coming here as sooner or later I might be persuaded to buy at Cupra-R 225 with even more power. Realistically though, I will test drive the Cupra (facelift) and the Cupra R and see what they both are like to drive compaing the power as well. Considering I am coming up from a 1991 118bhp MX5 (more like 100bhp) since it is now 16 years old, I will probably be blown away with the standard Cupra R as per power.

Cobraman - The 210 and 225 LCR's both remap to exactly the same figure, so you don't get any more power if you buy the 225 and remap it. The engines are 99% the same and, more importantly, the turbo is the same as it's this that limits what power you can get out of the engine. So if you're going to remap the car, it makes no difference what age of LCR you buy, you'll end up with the same power and torque.
Just so you know, the Cupra remaps to 200-210bhp and similar torque figures. If you want any more power than that from a Cupra, you're getting near to Big Turbo conversions! That's why the LCR is the better buy if you're interested in big power.

Autotrader isn't loading so cannot comment at the moment. When going for ultracheap, make sure the car actually drives as it should and hasn't been in an accident. I think the owner HAS to declare it by law if asked now. Also make sure the turbos are in good condition because this could cost around £700 plus labour for a new one if they clonk out. Something to consider when buying a cheaper car.

They might be in that price range by then. They are only £500-1000 more than that for that sort of mileage or higher now, so I would be surprised if you couldn't find something decent for that budget by then.
Also keep an eye on the local Seat dealers, as Sept/Oct time is always a good time to buy. With the new registrations coming out, people part-ex their cars for newer versions, meaning the dealer has a sudden influx of second hand cars and often lets them go on better-than-normal deals
Same applies to March/April too
Yes - that Autotrader one looks like a Cupra but stated as a CupraR.
You can tell by the fact the seats don't have the CupraR red stitching and badging on the back of the seats and the pedals are black instead of chrome/silver. Unless of course he decided to rip out his CupraR seats and pedals and replace them with the older Cupra's seats and pedals.

Also, the bodystyle (bumpers front and rear and side skirts) are different, as is the exahust. Plus the Cupra R's Brembo brakes wont fit under those Cupra wheels. And in the interior shot, there is no red trim on the air vents and no red stitching as found in the Cupra R.

i did wonder when i saw the seats.
need to sort my tolly really b4 i start enquiring about the cupras. thats the downside of buying private, i have to sell private. the tolly has been stuttering and choking for a while now, i think its the maff after reading similar cases on here. its not so bad when engine warm, but wouldnt have to worry about sorting it if i was part ex-ing it! what to do.....
