@Cupra Jon Did you get anywhere with your dealer regarding the 4 x Sensor Impairment errors?

I've just returned from Sinclair Cupra after its first service and had a list of issues for them to investigate with the main one being sensor impairment.

I specifically showed them this....
Regarding Sensor Impairment. Warnings shown are; "ACC: sensor impaired", "Front Assist is unavailable. Sensor impaired.", "Travel Assist is currently unavailable. Sensor Impaired" and "Error: Emergency Assist".
This happens intermittently during most journeys in the car, sometimes within 5 minutes and sometimes after 20+ minutes. The warnings come and go regularly.

What I got told was that they have seen the faults logged but cannot do anything as the faults were not present during the service.

I have photographic evidence of the faults too but when booking in was told, we don't need to see them, that won't be necessary.
No - I got fobbed off in a similar manner to yourself!

If the dealer is telling you there are no relevant codes stored with those errors showing up then they are lying, or don't know what they're looking for.
@James_R Thanks for coming back to me.
They said the fault codes were logged but couldn't do anything, as the faults did not appear while the car was in for a service. I stated that the codes would reappear on a drive and was happy to go out with a technician. This was apparently not acceptable, as they cannot allow a technician to spend more than a few minutes assessing a potential (but clearly logged and photographed) fault.

I'm going to email the dealership to obtain their findings and viewpoint in writing, before taking this further.

I won't be fobbed off and I won't let this slide.

I also complained about creaking top mounts (they creak when manoeuvring the car when stationary), for example when parking. This was apparently down to the electronic handbrake....which I think is BS. I was getting angry at this point so decided to deal with this one, another day. One problem at a time eh. 🤷‍♂️

Update
Just dropped the car off for some agreed warranty work, a TPI regarding a noisy sunroof (they are cleaning re-greasing the mech). I've also made them aware that the 4 errors regarding ACC/Travel Assist sensor impairment, have again re-occurred since the service a few weeks ago. As they have the car for the day, I'm hoping that some effort will be made into diagnosing the cause of the errors (which relate to steering wheel sensor and/or module, based on what I've read on this forum).
I'll add more after I collect the car later on today.

Yesterday Lane Assist & Collision warning both not available - it must still be the holiday season perhaps when the weather gets colder they will stay again!

Car was at the dealers for the whole day for the sunroof TPI and will need to go back in again as they forgot to do the "adaptation" :(. Very poor.

Regarding the ACC/Travel Assis sensor impairment....
I spoke to a technician about the problems I am experiencing and was told it was down to the sensor having "no free sight". Apparently, our sensors are prone to getting confused by direct sunlight or rain. I put it to the technician that other cars I've owned, including a Seat Leon, had no issue with the sun or the rain and that my cars sensors were not working as designed and were essentially not fit for purpose. I was assured that this is a common issue with these modern sensors. I get that they do more in modern cars but why limit cruise control?

Apparently the key error, which was not present in the fault log this time was "Error: Emergency Assist". If this was present, then they would consider looking into the problems further and change the steering wheel or module if needed. So as it stands, I've got to note future occurrences, taking pictures of the errors on screen, and then booking the car in again.

I was provided with a print out of the Self-diagnosis log, which contained the related codes logged since all were cleared after my last visit a few weeks ago.

I am an amateur car detailer and clean the car regularly, so the bumper sensor is always clean.

I will continue to add further posts to this thread as and when I get an update. Opinions welcome. (y)
