Right ive been thinking about polishing my charge pipe for a while now.
I decided to try and get on with it now i have some days off went down to halfords but the finest wet and dry they do is 1500 grit any idea where i can get hold of some 2000 or 2500grit

Also i had a quick look the other day i no how to remove the charge pipe from the front but had a look from the back the turbo side and couldnt see where it joins to the turbo from there had a search all i come up with was its just joined with a clip...

ive got a feeling im just being very dumb...:redface:

any help..

you are.....lol, no just undo the clip and give it a wiggle and it should come off.
you can get 2000+ grit from specialists or go to a bodyshop near you, they should give you some sheets for a drink. i used 1000 wet n dry, then 2000 wet n dry and finally 2500 wet n dry to polish my porka alloys. buy some auto sol as well, its about 5 pound a tube but works wonders after wet n drying. hope this helps :D
o and have a look on ebay or websites for some2000+ sandpaper :D

start lower than 1000.

start with 400. 600. 800. 1200. and then 1500.

wont need to go any higher than that. then go to maplins or machine mart and get a polishing kit. then go over it with this.

result= watch the badboy shine

Going to do it the best i can with this first then have a look at polishing it all with one of those polising balls on a drill and that... dont no what they called hopfully it should come out nice....

Right thought id show you all my hard work over the past 4 hours im happy with it now i think...its not ultra shiny but im thinking its about perfect for how i like it...i used 600 800 1200 and 1500 and didnt have any metal polish so used some t-cut to give it a bit of shine should get better results if i used a proper buffer though...

I didnt take any before pictures of it so this is the only one i have to campare it with..
