Hi getting the odd problem with the ibiza and thought id invest in a VAG.. I've had a look but cant seem to find any info on what cable i need (pins) and software version for a:

Seat Ibiza TDI 1900 salsa
R-reg 1998

would be gratefull! :)

Hello? What? Where do you get that Idea? VAG-COM has supported the Ibiza for some time. And why would you tell him to download an old version if he is going to get a genuine Ross-Tech interface? Please don't confuse the issue.

Old serial cable is the issue not the version of VAG-COM. The old style cables do not support the changes made in version 4 and newer. Version 311 is the most current you can run.

Scott is looking to buy current product. He will be able to use the latest versions of VAG-COM. You could also. You just need to move up to a Genuine Ross-Tech interface.

sssstew, you are mixing things up a little. The problem/incompatibility you are experiencing is that your 3rd party interface hardware is not compatible to version 400 and newer. The Seat Ibiza (6K) is compatible with all versions of VAG-COM which we have on our website and if scottuk buys the KEY series interface which Bruce suggested he will be able to use the latest version as well as future versions of the software.

We are currently working on a compatibility list which also covers non-US models. Take a look at it, already covers the Seat models. ;)
