What is the best front mount intercooler kit for a LCR. Have been looking at some of the other threads and don't know which ones people are using for the LCR. The Toyosports seems to be popular for the cupra but is it big enough to make a difference on the cupra R.

The forge is a bit out of my price range at the moment.

The one that nev_lcr has looks pretty good but can't see which one it is or where to buy it.

If anyone has installed adecent setup would it be possible to post the parts, rough prices and where they were purchased from?

Thanks.

I was looking at the Toyosports one but wasn't sure if it was big enough for the LCR as most of the cars I have seen on here with it appear to have been the LC.

I have been trawling through this for days trying to find out the right information.

From i have read the toyosport ones are very popular. Big isnt always better mate, stick with what others have tried and tested.

Hi mate, toyosport one is a popular one for the LCR. Have a read through Stu_Pot or Harty190486 build threads as they show you what you need and how it will sit etc. I personally went for a different cooler at similar dimensions as the toyosport one, only reason I went for the other is I got it for a nice price ;)

all depends what type of person you are my friend

Type 1.

a) you have more money than sense
b) you like brand names :gay:
c) you have a 500+Bhp LC/LCR :drive1:

then pay £500-600 for a forge one

Type 2.

a) you realise that your LC/LCR will not exceed 400bhp while in your possession (if ever)
b) the same cooling results can be achieved with a £250-300 universal / inter-cooler kit :D

However, it may require you to use some of those brain cells to fit it. :help:

Decisions, decisions

Jokes aside mate, the Toyosports one has had positive results, excellent value for money (if that's possible in the UK), tried and tested, just got mines yesterday, seems to be very well put together. [B)]

I've a massive proalloy intercooler which has no lag at all as its a very efficient design. Some cores half its size will have lag issues due to thier design.
I would consider buying the forge lcr cores only for half the price of the complete kits without the crashbars and plumbing etc, and buy the other items my self. That way you have a tried and tested core and save ubber pounds on the hoses etc. Best of both worlds imho.

TX Autosports one for me from eBay outlet seller. 350 notes but found it a great bit of kit so far. Sambryant has the same kit.

Read our threads for more info..

As tom said, I also have the tx autosport kit, really good quality and a really good price, the kit fits perfectly with out moding the crash bar. I'm over the moon with mine, no lag and pulls harder all the way to the red line :)

Nope, the size is 70 cm x 20cm x 9cm, total size works out to be pretty big due to it's 9 cm depth. Forge one is 6 cm
