Well, decided to put the car on the rolling road today and see what was what?!

The guy i bought the car from said he had the car remapped, he showed me a receipt in the service history for the map at a cost of £450! Should be a pretty good map at that price!

On the rolloing road it went!

Not bad at all but that remap, didn't exist?! The car hadn't been remapped at all?! I did find a cheap tuning box on it (probably from Ebay) which i removed the second i noticed it!

The poor guy had been charged £450 for a cheap tuning box by the company that had claimed to have remapped it!

Anyway, the car performed really well for a standard car, standard spec is 168bhp and 258lb ft of torque.

Mine, 178.5bhp and 310lb ft of torque, was happy with 10bhp over standard and a smooth power delivery on the graph -

The car is booked in for a remap tomorrow so lets see what it brings?!

Bhp fair enough but an extra 52lbft...? Thats not possible on a standard car mate, could just be a really bad map

I'm baffled now then mate?! The guy who done the rolling road has a good reputation and i watched him from start to finish. He was 100% the car wasn't mapped and totally standard and the figures are what the car produced! Are you thinking it is mapped?

Stage 1 is supposed to be 200 bhp and 420nm, which is about 310 lb ft... Sounds like it

So why is mine only producing 178.5bhp but the same torque as a 200hp Stage 1?

The guy is very confident tomorrow in achieving 210bhp and around 340 to 360lb ft of torque?

Think i need to be having a chat with him tomorrow before he does anything?!

I dont know, its strange. 360lbft is a lot of torque, is this just a stage 1 too, so dpf still in place? Cos thats more than stage 2.

Anyway, a standard car shouldn't be making 70nm more than specified factory figures.

Thanks for pointing it out. He didn't specify what stage and yes dpf still in place. Heads battered now, need to look in to this and make sure i'm not getting ripped off!

Just looked at the receipt and it's a company called TD Performance Tuning. Just noticed on the receipt it says DPF + Tune. Getting more confused by the minute?!

Either standard with an overboost issue, very poor map, underlying issues or an over optimistic RR.

Take the figures with a very large pinch of salt and focus on the gains that the RR should highlight once mapped. Beware anyone that is confident of achieveing X figures from a car without at least datalogging it, sounds like trying to sell you a number.

Have you checked to see if you still have a DPF, as from the sounds of it the DPF has been removed/gutted and the software adjusted to suit
