Didn't do this today, but modified the home made induction kit as i wasn't happy with the air filter placement.. It was tucked in the corner and had no direct air flow...

Modified it to be in direct line with the OE feed through the grill, also added copious amounts of heat reflective tape. It's not pretty but it works well. Took it for a hiding the other night, serious abuse... :) Pulled over a few times and the pipe was still cold. The only time it gets warm is in slow moving traffic as you would expect, but not noticed any loss of performance. IAT's remain as they were before.

One less 90 degree bend, direct air flow and a slight improvement in peak MAF readings :)

I had the Check Engine Light come on yesterday, no other symptoms other than occasional laboured starting. Took it to the garage I've got a warranty with (some 30miles away) and the diagnostics showed a slight abnormality with low pressure fuel pump. Cleared it and a spirited test did not trigger it again, so sent on my merry way home. Technician was going to chat to the tuner about the map to see if this could be related/ discuss solutions etc on Monday morning.

Came to move the car today to give it a good wash and the bloody light is back on. Of course, this would have to happen at 6pm on a Sunday.... so today, I drove all the way back to drop off my car at a garage. My poor wife has to drive all the way there again in the morning to drop of the keys while I'm at work!

Solid amber CEL is on. Came on when starting the car, rather than whilst driving. Thank goodness for warranties.

http://www.madcowuk.com/product/waxbox

it's just samples of their products, the dude behind it seems pretty sound, started following them on instagram and he sent a £10 discount out of the blue. not seen any reviews as such, just photos of folks cars that have used the products. i'll see how it is, i just ran out of dodo juice so hopefully this'll do as a stop gap till i get some more.
