Lincoln/40,000 ft.
Dropped the car off for some much needed TLC.

My mate trying to persuade me to get a full vinyl wrap!

Getting the car back on Tuesday and can't wait. It's off to AKS soon to have Alex work his magic on a few niggles for me.

So with me having a Pd 170 bhp and it been mapped to stage 2 by shark, other than the exhaust ( which im looking into ) the other main thing is airflow.....

Now the PD doesnt really get much if any power gains from a new air intake, and there EXPENSIVE nue-speed £204.00!!!!! K&N £145.00!!! so with this in mind I decided to have a go myself. Its a mod that I saw that had been done to a Skoda Pd130:rofl:

Now its still a work in progress, I had to cut the silicone hose down slightly and I need to get some cold air feed pipe work from the standard air intake behind the grill to the cone just for giggles, but picture wise its done..The sound is spot on nothing different on tick over but as soon as you open up it just wooches so nicely!!!! MPG seems the same + idle seems normal as to loss of power with hot air??? theres a fair amount of cold air going to it as I've kept the air intakes @ the front I took it for a 12 mile drive with a fair bit of hard driving and the cone filter and silicone hose where still cold;)

As to cost im staying tight lipped as I may start making them to maybe sell on, just a thought @ the mo, but it was way way less than the K&N one..

Please feel free to comment.........................

Done this on mine ages ago and thought it sounded pants sorry mate, it gave an induction noise until around 3.5k obviously when the turbo was tailing off, it gave a horrible waste gate chatter even at slow speeds

Mine doesn't sound like that, what airfilter did you use? mine dosent make any waste gate chatter and @ low RPM you can barely hear it....Very strange

Just ordered a few bits online, been looking at then for ages and decided just to go for it.
- honeycomb grill
- Heko wind deflectors
- Exhaust tip (1.9tdi one looks rubbish)
Should give me something to look forward to next week anyway.
