Oh yeah, but with an old car I won't care plus I'll have my second car which will be kept in pristine condition and only come out on good days!

Twice the insurance, twice the tax, 2 cheaper cars that are more likely to go wrong...there are a lot of cons. I wouldn't want a 10 year old Audi with a DSG box to rely on for big miles. If you are going cheap, go stupidly cheap and get an old mercedes diesel. Run it on chip fat and then bin it when it breaks. Or go for a primera, avensis or something under a grand that you really won't care about.

Or just keep the Leon and have the best of both worlds on one package..,

Currently looking into Audi A4 Estates, manual, around 02-04. 1.9TDi 130bhp as I know they're reliable engines.

Insurance is something I need to look into, yeah.

My mileage should drop from 22k as I won't be travelling between Teesside and Liverpool weekly due to transferring to Teesside Uni - just 20 miles a day commute instead.

Obviously it's something that would require a fair amount of looking into rather than jumping straight for it!

To be honest mate one reason for doing it is so i can pay my dad back the money i owe him on my car...

It well easy mate. 5 minute job max, 4 screws to undo and a wire to unplug lift the old dv out, new dv in, 4 screws back in and plug wire in, job done. £36 from TPS, part numbers is 06F 145 710 G.

If i got around £12k for mine, I can pay my dad back and i'd have £7k left. £5k on a daily and £2k on a classic to be (i expect some restoration to be involved).
