Got cut up by some imbecile in a hire car driving from the wrong lane and over hatchings on a roundabout. Judging by his driving ability little wonder he's in a hire car, had no clue as to why I was beeping him.

Drove straight on from the left-only lane on this roundabout- https://goo.gl/maps/8J2yn

What a tool!! I kerb my wheels from someone on their mobile straight lining a roundabout with me on the inside. I bet she didnt have a clue it happened. If I hadnt been on the way home sick from work I would have chased her down.

Tuesday night I was coming back from the return trip to Halfrauds to get the number plates remade which they bodged the night before, a trip i shouldnt have to have made i might add.

I stopped in the road next to mine just to check something maybe 100 metres from the give way at the end, and if i hadnt made that 10 second stop, the guy cutting the corner (at speed) from where he had driven the wrong way up the one way street at the end would have ploughed into the front of me! Seriously it would have happened.

Not today but yesterday, I took the car back to Big Fish to see if John could rectify the regen and hesitation issues and after hooking the car up to VCDS it shows the DPF level is very high and just above the regen level constantly. This would explain why it regenned 3 times yesterday and usually every other day. John said this will be why its regenning so often and why its hesitating as its always near the limit. Not sure this is the cause of the hesitation personally as the MPG is down to around 38 so my thought was that its overfuelling.

After talking through the options of either having the DPF gutted or having the map taken off, we agreed the best course of action would be to do the DPF delete an John agreed to do it at his Stockton branch for £200 instead of the £400+ they usually charge. So I just need to book it in now as I don't think I could go back to it unmapped lol.

Have a new job that I start tomorrow which is extra £600+ a month to my last one so will be able to cover it now with out eating into my house savings. My only problem is they can only do the DPF work during the week which isnt convenient as I need the car for work and they don't have a loan car.

Going to be a busy month or so car wise as its due a service now, MOT is start of April and the discs and pads are due all round also.

Your MPG will probably be down because you have removed the air feed cover from your air filter, it will be pulling in heat from the engine bay.

Fitted some spring islolaters on my front springs, after fitting the Eibachs i started getting a slight rattle on uneven road surfaces. Contacted Eibach who supplied the isolater free of charge. The rattle has now gone!

Also another friend who has an 08 Leon 2.0 tdi 170 had his car towed to a garage today following a slight misfire then engine cut out. It's been diagnosed as an inlet manifold failure resulting in damage to a piston, valves and possible turbo. That's two now that i know of with failed engines due to the manifold!

You're all good then mate, i think all cars go wrong at one time or another, they are getting worse! haha I used to just service peoples cars years ago once a year and wouldn't see them till the following year. Now they come back 2 - 3 times between services with faults like failed sensors, flywheels, egr's etc

Also cancelled my insurance from Admiral and moved to Chris Knott. Highly recommend giving them a call to anyone wanting nice people to talk to and sensible prices for modded motors!

New intake valve fitted today, got a decent price for a genuine part from vw thankfully.
Had the egr cleaned whilst it was all gutted out, car runs much nicer now, well chuffed.
Put a dent in my piggy bank though....
