Drove it cautiously in a horrid downpoor, that rain was coming from above, side and bouncing up from the ground Forest Gump style

I wish I had a MIB2 and not a MIB1...

Anyone serviced their Leon before? Is it easy? I'm considering servicing my Cupra seeing as it's so damn expensive, and garages don't seem to want to follow the Seat schedule..."no this doesn't need doing because it hasn't done enough miles"...I just want everything perfect dammit!

Mini rant over.

I think the hardest part of changing anything was the pollen filter for me. And that itself wasn’t that challenging.

Spark plugs, oil filter, oil, sump plug, pollen filter and air filter replacement/clean is all you really need for a minor service. But the Mk3 manuals and guides thread will give you the breakdown of exactly what is done on each service (minor and major) and how to do it. I’m on my phone so can’t link you to it at the moment :(

Yeah, I have seen it, I don't think the brake fluid was done last year (it would have been 3 years old) so according to Seat it needs to be changed, along with the front diff oil. The place near me told me nah doesn't need doing, and they were funny with me over the phone too trying to actually book it in, so I might just tell them to shove it.

I need to take it back to the dealer anyway as they need to respray the front bumper (again) so I might just give in and have them do it all whilst it's there.

Yeah that was my 300. Its the first time Ive had the Cupra on track and I was really happy with it. I could tell the brake fluid was starting to go off by the 4th lap out but I kind of expected that as its completely stock. Very close in terms of flat out speed to the M235i that ive driven around there.

A new civic type R was plodding around the pits too. I would have liked to compare it on track but I dont think it ever went out!

A couple of nice machines turned up for the afternoon session would have liked to see the GTR

Updated maps to v1030, altered throttle response to linear or whatever the opposite of factory setting is (I got fed up with jerky starts in dsg) and stopped cupra button lighting up when in cupra mode.
So I've had chance to test the throttle response change for a good few miles. It does seem to be smoother off the line, previous setting used to cause the car to jolt forward after slight delay, now power seems to come in smoother without the jolt. I'll be keeping the setting as is for now :)

Booked in for a service later this month, wanted them to change the front diff oil too but they told me £199???? And it's a standard SEAT charge...

But £199??
£199??
How?!?

I would ring around and ask for cost, Thats a rip off, its just an oil change and Filter from memory.

Yeah, I told them to not bother with that. I'll just get some non-seat dealer to do it who won't charge the earth...

I wouldn't mind (well, I would) but from the service book it doesn't even look like that big of a job really.

Spent 3.5hours cleaning the wheels on my Cupra. Pre rinse followed by wash with Valetpro Bilberry acid free wheel cleaner. Then a wheel clean with Meguiar’s Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo using an EZ Detail Brush. Dried off using a drying towel. Then treated to a coat of Adam’s Revive Fine Hand Car Polish and finished off with two coats of Poor Boys Wheel Sealant.

Then a polish of the twin exhaust pipes with some Autosol.

Now for the bodywork...

Gave the 280 a much needed wash today, not done it for 4 weeks due to attending weddings and it being so hot that I struggle to dry it quick enough! looks lovely but already covered in wheat dust from the combine behind my house.

Also fitted fan washer jets, took 2 minutes

Having some harmless fun with an S3 on the dual carriageway when we’re both passed by a 15 yr old Volvo S90 prepared to do 120mph to make a point. Sigh.
