Today I’ve installed replacement shifting paddles for the Cupra,

Been trying to find decent ones for ages when I stumbled upon these ones called O Shift EX (Type R) by OSIR Design.

The look super clean and they light up!
The shifting action itself has a better clicking action to it now.

The install takes like 20 mins if you know what you’re doing.

Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a similar upgrade.

They look absolutely awesome - were they just a straight swap for the existing paddles once you've taken the airbag etc out?

Yeah straight up plug and play, no mods needed at all.

Well for anyone interested - I ordered a set from the manufacturer in the USA as imo they look awesome, and I've wanted a set that light up/look OEM

Order was cancelled, as apparently they won't ship to the UK any more because of VAT requirements (god damn Brexit again). So that's the end of that

I'm sure that anything ordered direct from USA would not have been affected by Brexit, it may be that they have an outlet in the EU that ships to European destinations.

The response I got was;

We no long ship to the UK due to the VAT collection laws imposed on US sellers. I have gone ahead and canceled your order and issued you a full refund

The response I got was;
The VAT collection and extra taxes applied to items imported from USA has been the same for many years.
Sometimes you'd be lucky to escape it, the thing I find annoying is that the delivery/shipping companies would make an extra charge for collecting the taxes on behalf of HMRC (at least I think it's them that demand the tax).

Seriously?

The response I got was;
Even for a 'non-Brexit related' country like the US of A , things have changed; we ship a lot of stuff back Stateside and where an online booking on the UPS (other shipping companies are available) system used to take me about 5 minutes, it now takes about half an hour to fill in the export documentation they require, including Harmonised Codes for everything. And an Expedited shipment that used to take 3 days door-to-door UK to California now takes a week - if you're lucky. No wonder American sellers can't be @rsed.

I've been a very busy boy over the last few days.
Yesterday I removed one of the wheels and gave it a wash, decon, clay. Then tackled it with a magic eraser and some heavy cutting compound to remove the last of the contaminants, followed by a 2 stage polish. Hoping to do the remaining 3 next Monday/Tuesday
Today I swore a lot as I routed all the wires for a subwoofer, was a very tight fit under the dash but managed in the end. If anyone is looking to install a sub, just drop me a PM and I'll give you as much info as I can.

Had a bump in a supermarket car park

Bootlid dented and scuffed, bumper scuffed and Reiger diffuser scuffed too.

Hoping a wash and machine polish will improve what it looks like before I get it looked at.

Firstly, ouch. I'd be heartbroken.

Secondly, it looks like a transfer onto the paint so should come off the bumper with a heavy cut compound. Give it a go over with KochChemie H8 with a either a HexLogic Green(Heavy polishing) or yellow(cutting). That will get off any black marks and also any mild scratches.
One of my favourites right now for removing heavy swirls and buffer marks is a Scholl S20 paired with an orange Zvizzer pad.

Also, mind me asking how it happened?

Yeah a lot is where it was black plastic on their car. Will go over it with a magic sponge first then Fast cut+ on a green pad followed by some menz p302s on a red and/or orange lake pad.will be what I'm using.

Reversing out of a space, he reversed out of his and turned behind me.
I saw him coming and stopped and he didn't really.

Nooooooooo, sorry matey that sucks - diffuser will be a bugger to polish back up too I'd imagine. Nothing cracked plastics wise?

What did my Leon do today? Tried to get a custom remap done on a dyno - failed miserably as the car wouldnt change gear, so company gave up and refunded me
