New Tyres have arrived, next step to get them fitted to wheels and then I have a great couple track days booked in September to see how well they work out on the track.

Replaced my AMG flag with a Cupra flag. This should please a lot of people here haha

Even though its not the 100% correct flag, I could not find a good Seat Cupra flag in white. I need a white flag, as this helps lighten up the dark garage.

I wish I had a large garage like yours; mine’s only just large enough to park my car in 🙁.

Double garages with two doors only take one car since you can't get the big one in. I watch the neighbour with their jag. The wife's little one goes in one side but his stays out. He'd have no luck with a single double door. I can't get the Ateca and Arona in together. Decided not worth the hassle.

White lined the garage which makes parking easier. You make a mask with wood and spray paint it. With a rear white line you just put the car into reverse and see the white line... that is what the partner does. Standard operating procedure on parking with a car which doesn't have 360. Slap it into reverse. Saves putting blocks at the front. Dangle wights from the roof etc that touch the windscreen.

White lining the garage. Tip of the day 😉.

When I bought my current car last year, I knew it was a little wider than my previous car so I asked for an extended unaccompanied test drive. Part of that test drive involved me driving the dealer’s demonstrator car to my home and making sure I could get it in my garage. Luckily it did fit.

Fortunately I’ve not had any issues getting my car in and out of my small garage - electric folding door mirrors, parking sensors and a park pilot image on the infotainment screen are a great help 🙂. Self adhesive foam blocks - stuck in appropriate locations on the right hand side (driver’s side) garage wall prevents the driver’s door making contact with the wall.

Makes me wonder how I managed when I owned a mk4 Golf with no parking aids or electric folding mirrors……….🤔

The other trick is to stick a bit of carpet on the wall as a protector when opening the door. I'm adverse to tight spots after hitting the coaching hotel entrance in Slovakia. The clue "coaching". It's the gap where the carriage of the coaching line would go. Plenty of examples along the old A5 in the towns. Take the horse and carriage through the arch into the rear and stables, fresh horse... well ultrasound is not precise enough to judge the distance 😉. 360 / Top View no good.

Have one look at those hotels and say... I'm not doing that. They can keep their advertised parking at the rear. There were other people that hit the wall whilst there and they chipped a bit off the wall.

Sensible to try out the car in the garage. My old London garage you couldn't get the turning circle on as cars grew in length. People subsequently rented them out for storage. Change of use.

The rear brake conversion is complete. Converted to the Leon KL brake with servomotors. What immediately struck me was how much quieter and more comfortable the system works.

Recently I've passed 100000KM milestone in my car. It was really great journey so far and hope it will stay the same!

Other than that car was recently in detailer shop. It received well deserved care:
  • paint correction and ceramic coating
  • few PPFs were added to the most crucial spots - piano blacks on B and C pillars, roof edge, door handle recess and trunk edge
  • front and rear lamps are now protected with slight dark PPF
  • carbon spliter was finally installed!
I've also dismantled front bumper and switched few things - bottom trim with a hole for a radar, black grille frame from Cupra and side trims with holes from Cupra. Here is a comparison photo when I bought it over 4 years ago and now :)

Has anyone had an issue with their drivers seat creaking/squeaking?

Had this for months and seems to be getting worse.

I thought it was related to suspension which it went in for a few months ago, where it had top mounts replaced and bearings greased.
As had a noise going over bumps.

But concluded this latest noise defo seems to be coming from Seat and seems to happens regardless of going over bumps or not and is annoying the hell out of me.
