A weird feature, engine idles best and power steering pump works best at idle when there is humidity in the air :p as I have polyurethane dogbone bush and TT subframe bushing the idle is a bit "rattly" and I can tell the difference, during rainy days and just after rain it's like I've changed to normal rubber bushings.

Finding a reason for this is impossible. I have new coil packs in good shape, wire bundle to coil packs covered in aluminized fibreglass insulation and a grounding kit as well. All classic (mechanical ignition distributor) cars experience problems in high humidity, the Leon does just the opposite. Even if the coils can be influenced in some bizarre manner by air humidity, this does not explain the easier operation of the steering.

In my 2001 LC I have the headphones working on rear ashtray and the passenger mirror only, dips to see kerb when reverse is selected but only when mirror dial is switched to drivers mirror.
Best for me is the auto tinting rear view mirror, looks almost black when car headlights behind you at night, and when they are gone back to normal....

that it would cost me a bloody fortune and become an addiction!

i found out today when i was bored and reading my handbook that the clip on the underside of the parcel shelf is to hold up the boot liner so you can use two hands to get the spare wheel out

LOL didn't know that!...

yay!! i've always wanted to know what that was for. Tried hanging shopping once and that ended badly!! :D

...but DID know that!

sensors are in the rear passenger light fittings

I always wondered where they were

It only switches them off for the next time you arm the system - as you're about to shut the door, press the button then lock the car and the sensors will be disabled. The time after that, they'll be back on again, unless you press the button again.

In my old A3 this button had a light in it so you knew when interior sensors were deactivated BUT you had to hold it in for around a second or so.

The fuel cap has wee cut outs round the rim so that you can sit it on top of the fuel flap, so that the cap doesn't rest against the paint.

Never noticed this either - nice one!

rear parcel shelf stores in car upside down behind rear seats when not in use
:funk:

Oh yeah nearly forgot - I only just saw this thread!

If you unlock your car and don't open it within 30 seconds or so it locks its self again.
The OEM ride eight is 2mm higher at the passengers side as these cars were designed to be left hand drive.

always thought my car was sat pissed when looked at it. now i know and think this could be an excuse to get her lowered...

Just below the rear ashtray on the rear of the centre console there are holes either side mines has the connections in for headphones and they work when you press the button on the radio..

Sorry, could have been a bit clearer in my post above. It's not always a problem, but it's a known problem in some circumstances, which has a fix for those who are brave enough to try it. I've scanned plenty of cars with aftermarket headunits of various specs and never come across a problem (apart from not talking to the radio, obviously), it seems to be limited to certain wiring harness configurations.

Actually yeah, I remember reading something about it killing aftermarket headunits by sending a high current up the wires or something. There is a way around it by reconfiguring the wiring or something. I just never scan the radio on vag com and haven't had an issue so far.

learnt alot here lol... not getting involved in the heel n' toe argument... never tried it in my Lc to be honest... its not really worth it. it just gives you increased engine breaking

Had to change rubber boots on driveshaft outer (wheel) joint, found out AUQ-engined FR version has larger and stronger driveshafts compared to AUQ-engine classic Leon. Same code as later AMK engines
