drove it and noticed i have a strange knocking sound coming from the engine bay, seems to only happen when i come on or off the power.

Must of been a standard S3 older model as left it for dead and once foot was down thought fook it I bought it to drive not achieve good mpg ;-)

Fooked about with air intake for airbox
And removed the plastic cover on back of light that old oem item went onto back on it tomorrow and see what else can be done to divert cold air in ,
It's a rubbish design by vag for airbox intake but most are I suppose

fitted my n75j valve and welded up my snapped clutch pedal, probably the most i have ever swore and kicked and punched the air in frustration, easily the most annoying and frustrationg job getting the clutch pedal back on

Cheers , that's what I'm looking at tomorrow get another feed down there do like ur set up but I'm reluctant to remove air box but could happen sooner rather than later
