I do remember a good few years back, scn were invited to a meet at a SEAT dealership somewhere. I really wanted to go but young kids & dawg etc. They'd really gone to town, providing a ramped access for lowered cars & BBQ/bar/camping. There seemed to be so many mk1's back then, makes me sad.Just to add into this, happy to help as well.
Some suggestions
MSVT Track days are great fun for those that want to get a bit of track time for their motors but at the same time lots of other people are allowed (for free) to come along to the tracks (just to watch), its not cheap to go out on the track but a lot of fun.
I have spoken to the track companies in the past and if numbers are big enough (to use the track) they will organise and control a day for you
Check out https://car.msvtrackdays.com/Calendar?utm_medium=menu for what is available but locations are Cadwell (lots of space for people to bring there motors, Bedford (they have space for motors but not next to the track), Donnington Park (very large car park), oulton park etc etc
They have other tracks like Snetterton (big car park but its to the side of the country rather than in the middle).
Then you have meets like coffe and cars (in lots of different locations) and there are loads of car meets you could join in with.
Personally I would suggest we see how many people are interested in meeting in the (midlands) area first and then get some idea of what month people would be free (I am guessing on the weekend (as I am retired)). You can then either join one of the other events or just find a nice place with a Pub/Hotel that would be happy to let us hold a meet up (this is what we did back in the day), last time I got involved in this we booked the pub for lunch and they were happy we used the car park.
I think the easiest venues to book are the coffee and cars ones e.g. caffeine and machine. It’s easy to suggest a date and let people buy their tickets.I do remember a good few years back, scn were invited to a meet at a SEAT dealership somewhere. So page #1000 of posts. Don't we get a reward or something?![]()
I agree. Too much to organise can end up being a logistical nightmare.I think the easiest venues to book are the coffee and cars ones e.g. caffeine and machine. It’s easy to suggest a date and let people buy their tickets.
Track day meet up sounds good too. Would love to take the car out on track but I think I’m too precious about it and cost conscious. I’d be happy to turn up and socialise/spectate.

You have to remove the old bulb connectors for them to fit right? I did replace mine with oem ones but ordered clear versions of these lolwee mod to the side indicators, not bad for 12 quid

Do any of these indicators cause problems with the MoT?
I've had to repair mine with epoxy, and a couple of years down the line, the glue's yellowed and they just annoy me now. Don't want to have to be switching them over every year.
Testers down here seem stricter than places I used to go. Years ago the rural ones north of London didn't even mention my number plate spacing. They failed me for that here.

Ahahah broke those two waxing the car or typing here at the keyboard?View attachment 48325 Not a bad shine for the old boy & two broken fingers on my writing hand ?
Here would definitely be a MOT problem. Even a single tail blinker or reverse LED bulb brings up all hassle kind. The indicators will be fine for MOT - as long as they work as intended
