im thinking of polishing my manifold as it looks poo atm just dull, ive seen some guys on here that have got theirs gleaming, just want to know is there some accessories i can get for my grinder to help me achieve a similar finish?

Dan

there is a product that halfbreeds sell I did mine yesterday it is 3 cutting compounds and 3 polishing wheels

I was sanding mine for 5 hours yesterday and its not as smooth as I would like it a tip use a drill with a sander to get most of it off and cover everything over I had to wash the engine bay yesterday and killed 2 coil packs in the process like a d**k bad times

I refuse to go all out with water in engine bay since i killed coils in my old megane coupé lol, is there not a disk i can put on me grinder to take the scum off it?

Dan

Drill sander Hugh sander unless you put a chisel gouge you should be fine just keep reducing grit 80 / 200 /400

like in above DIY :)

i think i best invest in a drill sander, either that or im gonna have sore hands tomorrow night lol, ill whip the manifold and rocker cover off in the morning and give me all, prob wont end up as shiny as some of the guys on here and certainly the tt on that guide, but im sure ill get it better then it is, ill put a before and after on here once im done, can you get a buffer disk for a grinder?

i would have said getting a buffer for your drill would have been better to get into tighter spaces?

I agree with another post you have to take it off.. Look at the thread i left for you if you want it to look like that it will take some work but when done you will feel awesome

Well im gunna take it off in the morning and get cracking with it, ill post pics once im happy with it lol
Thanks guys
Dan

Don't forget you may need a new manifold gasket, they tend to break up and it's always good to replace gaskets once removed, standard practice, don't remove the throttle body as you will need to replace that as they fall to bits.

Sent from my IPhone when I should be doing Work!!

So i can get the manifold off without removing the TB? would prefer to get around having it realigned thats all, as i dont have a vag com cable yet, and dont worry ill def replace gasket im sure my motor factors round corner will get me one or have one in, Dan
