what is power bleeding

Im am changing my front disks and pads tomorrow and obviously they will need bleeding... ive been searching through old threads and they say you need to power bleed, what is this?
Is it like an easy bleed kit you hook up to a compressor or something?
Why cant the old school break pumping way be done?

As you said, power bleeders are usually run off a compressor, but the same as an easibleed kit.

Pumpimg the brake isn't recommended IIRC as you risk rolling the seal in the Master Cylinder.

Why do you want to bleed the brakes when all you are doing is changing the discs and pads?

when you push the caliper pistons back you risk getting an air bubble somewhere dont you

No, it just pushes the fluid back into the reservoir, air will only get in if you undo the hose or take the calliper off.

I want to put some decent fluid in anyway so im still gonna bleed it.
