What pressure for 17" winter tyres?

As the handbook and filler cap only tells me what the tyre pressures should be for 19" tyres, I wonder if someone could tell me what the 'normal' pressure is for the 17" winter's that I've just fitted?

The handbook recommends adding 0.2 bar due to the type of tyre but what does the filler cap say for standard loading?

I am running 36psi in my 17" winters. Michelin Alpin.
Try it and you will know with the feel when driving.

The 19" recommended pressures are 2.7(39) + 2.4(35) so presumably your 36psi is for the front - but what about the rears?

If your current balance is 39/35 id adjust accordingly.
Use 37 front and 35 rear and if the front feels washy then up the psi slightly.
You should able to feel the balance.
I hope this helps.

36psi on 17s seems high. I am 35/33 front and rear on 18s (winters).

Depends on the engine in the front, running the 184TDi.

Your model should have a range of pressures for the engine and body, it should also list pressures for M&S tyres (Mud&Snow).

Thanks for the replies and it confirms that I need to notch it down a few psi to get rid of the vagueness that's been apparent since fitting the winter tyres.
