What to do with my ariel...

Okay, found out why my radio reception has been crap of late, my aerial base is fubar'd...

Now I don't know what to do, do I roll the the scrappies and get an old one that works, or eGay it...

discuss... Cos I really don't know what to do

oj i bought on of thoses i fitted when building the car back up only problem is the ibiza slopes back and the base of that areial is flat so it ends up sticking up abit at the front tried bending the base but not much difference ended up putting the standard back on

You running a C4 aerial? If so its that. My radio reception died on both my cars as soon as I fitted them, though I don't listen to the radio so it don't bother me. Only listen to either vroooomtschhh or my iPod.

Oh aye, and I thought mine was the same, but my dad plugged a working antenna (about a foot of coaxial to a mast) and my reception jumped into life! I pushed a bit of twin core into the centre of the aerial...thing, and it improved from when my aerials plugged in. Bit more testing and narrowed it down to the base. I don't normally listen to the radio, but its kind of handy for the times when I don't have a CD in the car to listen to more than static (bearing in mind I don't have vrooooooomtschhh to listen to )

Don't worry dude, I know its the base thats duff, and being in london, I get good reception, so a new base will rectify the issue
