Petrol FR with Pirelli as said already here i wont be buying more as no rim protector with them i think its poor that Seat use them i scraped a rim the other day because of this......

Pirelli on my FR TDI, the only positive is that the more scratches you do to your rims, an extra one does not hurt so much :D (the first really hurt ) - on wear, the Pirellis seem to be holding up well, done 9.5k miles, front still have heaps of tread and rear look nearly brand new, so no compliants there, but would be great to have a rim protector

Dunlop SP Maxx on mine - only done 800 miles so cant comment on wear:p

They seem to handle very well in both wet and dry and have a good protector so would recommend them so far.

Pzero on our 18inch fr tdi wheels (car bought in september last year).

Not great tyres but ok. Wearing ok too. They won't be replaced with the same.

I haven't had my FR yet, but going from your replies its a bit weird of Seat to supply tyres on such expensive wheels that don't have rim protectors!!!!:-o

I'll be so [:@] the first time I scratch mine!!

I think the bottom line here is that the wheels are not expensive. They're just alloys, not BBSs or anything.

Ain't they around £150 each??

Thats more than enough in my book when all Seat had to do is put tyres with rim protectors on.

But hey ho, I'll just have to stay away from kerbs :)

Do you find the Dunlops are bobbins in the wet as well as me?

Bridgestones (18") on my FR TDi. They have a bit of overhang on the wheel which will hopefully assist in non-kerbing. Tend to be a bit paranoid to the point that passengers need a plank to reach the kerb when I park.

Still not had chance to test the Dunlops in the wet, however they transmit alot of road noise I find....

tyres

I got pirelli's with my TDI FR from the dealers after 12,000 miles the front 2 were gone. They were good tyres good grip in wet, just not having the rim protecters had hurt me bad :(

so I went for michelins i'm on 20,000 now and are doing okay but wll not last to much longer. Starting to put the wear down to my driving style  who could blame me haha...
