Wheel Alignment before and after in pictures! and Settings!!!

Fronts I get 20k out of them and my rears lasted to 40k. That was alot of motorway though and I'm running the optional 18's. My wear is always middle wear on fronts.

Think I'll have a look into this as mine is up to 61k miles now.

What did you set the rear set to? I did not set the rear camber on mine to Manufacturers spec. IMO the manufacturers spec rear camber is a little too -VE camber. I kept mine a Little more upright to save tyre wear
TBH though I think 33K on the rear tyres is not too bad. How do you drive it? The more enthusiastic the less miles you get

Ah ha I found that on the fronts - What PSI you set em to - I have set the new set to 29PSI and they are wearing evenly as the uneven wear really pi**ed me off.

Oh btw I have done 3K on the new set.

My other car is a Mk1 MX-5 which benefits greatly from having a proper alignment. I use Tony Bones at Wheels in Motion who is based in Chesham, Bucks. Top bloke who has got himself a good reputation in the MX-5 Owners Club. He also has a good reputation in various other Clubs (Lexus, for example). I haven't posted enough to put up a link to his website so you will have to Google him. I am no affiliation to him - just a satisfied customer.

If anybody goes mention that Peter who used to be the Secratary of the MX-5 Owners club with the red Mk1 recommended him and I am sure he will look after you even more than normal.

nc30rider is right - a good alignment can made a huge difference to a car. I didn't beleive it until I took the 5 to be done.

One for the front and one for the rear

I would second Wheels in Motion in Chesham. I had my alignment done there a couple of weeks ago after a dealer tried and failed to fix the problem - a mis-aligned steering wheel.

The difference in how the car feels is massive. The vist also solved the mystery of the rear camber related tyre wear which I have also suffered and is now solved.

Wheels in Motion identified that the factory suspension settngs on an FR are G63 which are listed as "Cupra". A main dealer had my car realigned to G50-51 sport specification which they said was the official SEAT fix for curing tyre wear. 17000 mile after the reset and I have not suffered from either tyre wear or rumbling tyres.

A point to note the std Bridgestone tyres were terrible, Dunlops SP sport Max or Michelin pilots feel better and are much quieter.

If you have a wonky steering wheel or bad tyre wear then get a four wheel alignment done. It costs about £70 and makes a big difference. Skoda, Audi and VW drivers all suffer on the higher spec versions too !

Has anyone had problems with there back end steping out on mk2 leon fr. It feels quite skitish when i let my revs of going into corners this is with the traction control on. I nearly span out turning in at 40mph had to slam on the gas fast to counter.

Has anyone else had this similar problem or knows what the reason could be.

Not had it happen to me, but is common on modern Front Wheel drive cars
Trick is not to let the power off suddenly, feed in gently, ease off gently
Or if you like it lairry!! let off sudenly then try to hold on the slide with the power again

front suspension bushes being replaced today car in the stealers now fingers crossed, hoping 4 wheel alignment is done after work completed as sure to undo the alignment carried out recently no news yet and booked in at 9 this morning

well only one of the two suspension bushes came in so has to go back on 10th April also a recall on rear airbag sensors so thats being done at the same time and guess what steering wheel not straight again GREAT!

How have you found these settings, have they improved the problem. My fr is suffering from rear tyres inside scrub and whineing sound. I was thinking of putting the rear tyres on the front and new on the back, but will i just be moving the sound to the front?

The settings will deffo improve the wear issue.
The noise I'm afraid your gonna be stuck with. New tyres improve it, but do not eliminate it. It's just something Leon owners have to live with
I fitted Goodyear Excellences to mine and the noise is a lot,lot better than the Pirrellis I had before

The other option after 4 wheel alignment and new tyres is Dyanmatting your car. Do the boot area and see how it goes. I would still do the 4 wheel alignment first and foremost though.
Bit of a left field one but just been reading up on Audio stuff recently and Dynamat is used to sound deaden doors, boots, bonnets and so on.

Hi, Did the 4-wheel alignment at work today. It was a mile out for a car that has only done 4k miles especially at the rear. No wonder the wheel was off centre, the car must have been ‘crabbing’ along the road. I would recommend you get it done if you haven’t already.
It is spot on now though. Decided to keep the rear camber the same as it was cos the factory settings are a little too NEGATIVE IMO (See Pics) and would have caused wear on the inside of the rear tyres, probably v. good for handling though.
I have captured some screen shots of before and after when it was on the machine to compare. Also put up the settings page if anyone is interested.
