I dont know if i could bring myself you use a rattle can of Halford Paint on them, I would feel dirty and pikeyish i think, or would some say DIY wheels are acceptable?

Would DIY'ing my with with a rattle can from Halfrauds make is extremely difficult to have them redone properly later down the line?

lol, sooo true, the merest suggestion, even whiff of Halfords gets me thinking of chrome exchaust "sleeves" and neon lights, £50 gear knobs that look shite and dont last as long as OEM ones, and not to mention those w4nker LED's that go on the windscreen jet washers.

Go there for oil some mechanical car parts only, head units at a push....in my opinion of course, they're not that bad im sure. just full of little boys with their Saxos and Corsas with massive wheels and huge subs in the back...the car weighs twice as it did originally and they STILL buy induction kits and exhaust systems...they're going nowhere fast.

Anyway, my little rant over, soz about that.

Ha. I've just had a thought, if there are a few of us in the area that want to refurb our wheels, maybe we can arrange for a group discount perhaps? wherever we decide to go? just an idea, always good to try and save a few quid.

Rattle can from Halfrauds. If you have them blasted and smoothed it should be quite easy.

On second thoughts this could work out very cheaply, I might give it a shot, il buy a cheap alloy off the old eeeBay and see if i can work up to a decent finish, with a bit of practice i should be able to get a decent finish. :) the wheels are going to be vinyl wrapped anyway so i just need to get the to a smooth well lacquered finish :)

if Halfords spray paint really the best spray paint to use though?

will it be difficult to remove for when i want the redone professionally when iv got some more dosh later in the year?

I'm thinking of going for anthracite rather than the grey finish mine has at the moment...what about anthracite in a matt finish? That possible? Opinions? My LCR is Plat Grey.

OK I think it would be best to get a list going of who wants what and the finish they want.

I'll probably be going for Anthracite. or the same as they are now, almost plat grey.

If anyone else finds this thread and wants to join in, feel free. chances for a discount im guessing are slim, but wirth a shot.

1) Cupra_ahhh - 4 wheels with tyres attached - Probably Anthracite finish

4) t0m - 4 LCR wheels in high power silver. I'm not sure how soon I can look at getting this done though tbh. If this doesn't happen for a couple of months then I'm all in. Plenty to pay out for before I do my wheels unfortunately.

im not sure whether to get the standard Cupra wheels refurbished or not. I need 2 new rear tyres soon, plus all 4 wheels are showing signs of wear with bubbles etc. The cost of the refurb on all 4 and 2 tyres wont be too far off what it would cost for a new wheel/tyre set.

That's cool,I did think that not everyone will be able to get it done at the same time. If other peeps are willing or don't mind waiting till we're all sorted financially, that's fine. No pressure.

My two rear tyres need replacing too,and I'm thinking the same,i reckon a set if dark TTRS alloys would look lovely. But...my stock ones need refurbing whatever.

I was looking at RS6 wheel/tyre packages. I could get some money back for my current ones as front have nearly new tyres on. Got my eye on a couple bits on ebay at moment tho.

Ok mate, nice one.
I'll be 100% in say a few months when they are on the list to be done, high power silver with full refurb to repair curbing etc :)

Ah now that's interesting. I know a mobile guy called "Smart Solutions",they repaired my bumpers a couple of times, done a smashing job,but they also do wheels, but never used a mobile wheel guy before. I'll still be interested. :)
