wheel spacers

hi
i dont like how far my wheels sit inside the arches so im after spaceing them out so they come out further
firstly where can i get the spacers from and how much do they cost?

As I've said befor only do the rears as the geometry at the front is designed to provide countersteer in the event of a flat, pushing the front wheels out reduces or reverses the process.

USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!
Most people only do the rears and will use a 15mm or 20mm spacer.
I have gone for 20mm and it looks just right now i think.

The H&R ones are made from a proprietary aluminum/magnesium alloy so they're a lot lighter and a lot stronger the the Ebay steel ones. We've also had a lot of customers come to us for the H&R ones after buying the Ebay ones and had them crack. The bolts used with the Ebay ones are also again weaker and prone to threading.

If you are looking at spacers watch out for wheel to wheel arch clearance especialy if you have lower suspension and bigger wheels! I had a few problems with this.

strange theres not bad reports on here about them

didnt mean to sound like i was trying to undermind you, just concerned as i got the ebay ones as i had not herd any bad things about them.

The 15mm ones are DR spacers which are the bolt through and come with longer bolts, the 20mm are the DRA spacers which are the bolt on and then you use your standard wheel bolts to bolt the wheels to the spacer.

As a mechanical engineer I'd love to see your calculations to back that up.

That is against all mechanical and metallurgical science. But a good sales line.

Fracture mechanics says that aluminium/magnesium alloys are more prone to cracking than steels. So I'll ask again for the calculations you have to back up your assertion that the ones you sell buck that. You can provide them can't you?

We have first hand experience of this actually happening. We've sold hundreds and hundreds of sets of the H&R spacers and adaptors without one set coming cracked. The engineering company who make our custom size adaptors won't use steel to make them because they say they're had too many problems in the past doing so.

I'm not looking to argue and it's not a sales pitch, I'm just telling people our experiences.

Depression, being a Mechanical Engineer, I would agree with you also. For the same reasons you have pointed out.

Also depends on the bolts as well....and the quality of the material used for these

Saying that, I do want some spacers, this is one of the reasons I am still contemplating both options
