When do you change gear 2.0L 16V to go 'Back to the Future' style?

So people,

when you want to see flames coming from your tyres and your seriously close to damaging the space/time continum, when do you change gear for maximum effect?

5K, 5.5K, 6K, 6.5K, 7K, the redline? What is the true power band of a stock ABF lump

when i go supersonic its redline for me baby.. according to my rev counter this is just shy of 7K

Can't remember off hand but on an RR day a few years back my 16v and Stu, who hasn't been on here for ages now, made max power circa 6.5k.

6250 was the peak power on std management - but it didn't exactly tail off afterwards. it depends on what it drops to when you change up, but generally bouncing it off the limiter is what's required

7k for me as thats when the limiter is ready to kick in and i like to change before i hit it.

One thing that puzzles me, why does the rev counter go to 7500rpm when you can only get 7000rpm out of it?

think I used to change up when I hit about 6,900rpm when giving it some real pasty

can't beat a 16v at full chat, for thrashability and drivability !!!!

Change mine about 7100rpm but will limit just shy of 7500rpm

I think the limiter on mine is about 6900, so I change at about 6500 when really giving it some as when you hit the limiter you are loosing precious milliseconds and therefore you wont be able to go back to the future in your warp machine

Ok, the red line is at 6900. So your limiter definatly shouldnt be there!

The poll is for 6, 6.5, 7 and the redline (being 6.9)

I change as close to the redline as i can go, enless im cornering or whatever then i go in a higher gear earlier.

being an 8 valve mine cuts in at 6,200 which is good for an 8 valver,

9k- maybe for the honda s2000!
