When should the INSP warning come up?

I know the service warning light comes on early on UK cars, but mine came on at 7350 miles today. A bit early is it not?

I don't care too much, I just reset it as soon as I saw it, but I'm just curious.

Also, does anyone know if it works out on an annual basis as well? The reason I ask is because my mum's Ibiza is due for its 2nd annual at the end of the month, but it's covered 7600 miles from new.

Any answers would be cool!

Ta...

It's 9 1/2 months old mate, thats why it stumped me, thinking it might actually be 11.

I reset it using the trip meter reset thingy :)

I think the service intervals are 7500 abroad, like Flapper says it looks like they forgot to change it during PDI.

Mine did the same, but then it did come from Holland...

Actually mine's come on again - can anyone remind me how to switch it off, forgotten how I did it last time ?

3 keep reset held in for over 10 secs and it resets its self

mine came on over the weekend at 15000 miles. I have already had a 10000 mile service. Frightened the life out of me with OIL flashing at me on the dash!

Mine is 18months old, coming up 27k :S

anyway, got OIL at 25k, just changed to INSP.

Is it nothing to worry about then? Just reset and wait for 30k service?

Dont worry, if your on fixed servicing just ignore it and make sure your hitting your schedules correctly.

IIRC to remove it:
With ignition off hold down the trip reset button
keeping it held down turn on ignition
Keep held down for 10 seconds

This is how i got rid of my 'oil' warning, it should be the same

I realise this is a very old thread I'm resurrecting but I'm trying to reset the sevice light on my 2002 Seat Toledo 1.9TDI and this doesn't seem to work on it  Should this work on my car? TIA!

Edit: Found it elsewhere. If anybody's memory
needs refreshing, here goes:

ignition on
press and hold trip button
ignition off
ignition on
release trip button (service should remain lit on the display)
turn trip button to the right

Works a treat!
