ah hmmmmm, yes it is definately oil. in the pic the car has just been washed n thats wot was left behind, i used sum degreaser to shift it but it keeps comming back.

Have a look at the grease nipples on the door hinges (if it has them), or directly under the door hinges them selfs.
Also, try and see if any oil seeps out of the gaps as you move the doors back and forth.
Make sure u dont let it settle on your paintwork 4 too long as it will eat into it and corride the car!

could be tho they spray the catches on a

no the cars always clean, its definately oil and i have no sunroof. It just started appearing one day n when i washed the car i thought i had missed a bit but it was the oil. Its pi**in me off cos its gettin every n its hard to clean off. Gonna go to the dealers tomorrow i think n c wot they say.
Hey i'm brand new here... (so don't flame me if im wrong, but it might be worth considering the below)
My girlfriend drives a mod'ed focus and about a year ago she had some new shocks fitted, a week or so later oil appeared on her car in and around where it is on your photos(give or take a bit, no idea how it managed to travel that far, liquid does odd stuff) turns out her shocks were faulty and leaking oil or something to that effect. Hope this helps.

Shock oil isnt that colour young daniel.......... i should know 
i test warranty shocks every day at work and there is no way the dampers have black oil in them

hhmmmm its a posibility, but if u look at the panel gap it has also been leaking out and down from there but in the pic its been wiped off a bit. well anoyin as its not long been out of warranty so im gonna get turned over for it prob. just hope its not been draining anythin important!

Today seat said it was what they put on the hinges at the service but couldnt explain why it was black and didnt wash off i.e oil. so they washed it and cleaned inside the doors so hopefully it wont come back.
