Have a look at this.

ATP-VVW-171_450-4.jpg

It may not be well known but this is a racing performance intake by ATP and the complete system allows the installation of racing BOV open or recirculating.

This is video from a fellow Greek Cupra owner with this system installed by Greek tuner shop Testa Corse. It has a bailey BOV installed thus the "WRC" like sound.

PS. Notice the position of the filter exactly behind the stock intake opening - it allows better "breathing".

All of these intakes are very nice to look at, but none of them (with the exception of the Sorg) appear to isolate the cone filter from a hot engine bay, which means that any power gains will be less than an intake that is boxed off from the engine bay....

Just fitted my Dbilas in place of the Evoms today and i must say its really nice to be able to hear err......... nothing now. The car still wants to rip the tyres off everytime i gun it but its a lot more civilised inside the cabin. Really nice bit of kit. Definately recommended:funk:

hi.
did it fit ok? the only one ive seen fitted to a cupra was a very 'snug' fit. so tight it was leaving an impression in the sound proofing on the underside of the bonnet.

There is a thread somewhere where a guy compared the IAT of the Forge intake, filter down behind the open fog light grill of the S3, to an intake with the filter in the engine bay..

There was almost no difference, I agree with what your saying in principal but all cars differ..

Unless you know the specific flow path of cool air entering the engine bay of any particular car its hard to come to such a conclusion..

Anyways im waiting on a heatshield that is being made for my intake which will protect the filter from heatsoak off the coolant pipes, and will integrate a cold air feed running from the passenger side fog light grill..

I think I will also go with Dbilas. It seems that Injen CAI is not so popular over here. I've seen some movies with this intake system and it seems to work ok on 2.0 TFSI.

Now you see this is a nice idea. New prototype kit you have just published for the new Scirocco

Don't see any obvious reason why a similar system could not be developed and fabricated for the TFSI

Out in around 2 months time apparently.

Do you reckon the flow would be as good as the EVOM's? Can you still hear those annoying whoose and psssst noises in the cabin and how much did you get the dblias for?

The dbilas is just as good as the Evoms for flow rate in my opinion - i don,t loose any sleep over it. The Dbilas, i would say is more of a deep growl from mine - no whooshing noise.

Guys,
Can anyone tell me which of the two CAIs presented on Forge's website is dedicated to my car. Leon Cupra, fabr. 2009, 240bhp. I wrote them, but the answer i got was confusing and I really don't know what to buy.
FMIND02 - Cold Air Induction Kit for the 2.0 Litre FSiT - 235.46 quid with VAT or
FMIND02S3 - Intake kit for FSiT engines with a remote valve - 280.31 quid with VAT

nickydobreanu the second (FMIND02S3) is for your car, but I would do some research before going for the forge intake. There are plenty of intakes with similar prices.

Rob & Caroline the panel filter is good as a reusable replacement for the OEM filter and ensures a better breathing for you car but you cannot compare it to a cold air intake.

But non of these are true CAI. they all seem to sit in the engine bay where its going to be hotter than the air externally.

A true CAI would surely have to sit away from the engine to be of any benefit?

The Forge is like that, but it sits behind the bumper/headlight where is it subject to no ram air and more likely to suffer water ingress on a wet day.

It would need to be a pretty deep puddle to suffer any form of hydrolock though!

I had a carbonio CAI on my R32 and it sat behind the bumper and I didn't have any trouble with water ingress, even on motorways with loads of spray from standing water.
