I get a whistling noise coming from the drivers side of the engine bay only when i totally floor the throttle in second, third and sometimes fourth. Its starts off like a whoosh noise but just continues whooshing at a high pitch untill i change gear or ease off the throttle.

Its a std 2001 cupra with std DV and everything else std.

Any ideas?

Cheers

to me this sounds like upper intercooler boost hose, or a loose hose somewhere else.

I have a "whooshing" noise again at the moment from the same area - last time it was my boost hose and I suspect the same this time around too..

And I thought Samco was supposed to be an improvement over standard

I use the hi-grip jubilee clips, and do it up nice and tight. It lasts a thousand miles or so then I get a wooshing again. At least now I can check this before I go on any motorways and avoid loosing power at 70mph on the m3 :censored:

I get the sound only when it's really cold and for the first rev's on start up and probably for the first 200 yards.

almost like the turbo is too cold.. but i will check my hoses!
