Very happy with the remap mate. Car is so much stronger and faster, and better on fuel too. Win Win situation.
I can't speak for Revo as i have a custom code phase 1 on mine, but if your interested in C-C's remaps, you won't be dissapointed if you like a smooth power feed across the range. :funk:

good stuff, nice 1. Yeah i`ll have a look at that company cheers dude.

No problem mate.
Another good thing about the C-C phase 1 is that i can turn it off or back on whenever i want to with Vagcom. takes 2 mins to do and it's peace of mind if i lend my car out ;)

ahh yeah good point, that sounds a good idea. not really clued up on remaps, aren`t all remap companys the same? or do they do different things? is a custom map what u tell them i.e. how much torque bhp etc?

Not all companys offer the same. The product is the same (more BHP and Torque) but the way they make this happen is different. C-C is very smooth and strong but others are more aggressive and supply the power in a big surge. not great on wet roads i would imagine as a wheelspin in 2nd and 3rd is easy enough in standard form.
As far as i know, C-C are the only ones that allow you to switch a map on or off at will (as ofeten as you like).
The phase 1 map is generic but i think alot of the bigger name ones are, however i'm led to belive that they can be tailored if torque was to fry your clutch it could be lowered.
A custom map is more about how you like the car to drive, but to benefit properly you would need some big/expensive mods and alterations to get the most out of it.
my phase 1 is superb as it is and i don't feel the need to alter t or get any more form it for a while longer.

Thats spot on advice cheers mate, thats just want i needed in a nut shell. so if i got a remap from cc, i would just say i want a phase 1 generic? this were u can swap back to standard, is that at extra cost?

The phase 1 is generic as far as i know, and this is switchable for all TDI owners at no extra cost. Must be the way the map is written.

thats fine, does the car drive any different or just went u boot it! you get a big smile :funk:
This is one of those questions thats best answered with a demo.
The car feels stock when pottering around at sensible speeds and low revs, although it's abit smoother.
When you decide you want to give it a blast it comes to life and the power is fed in smooth and progressive up to the gear change. It really is hard to tell someone especially on a forum.
I tried to convince my mate for about 3 months and he had dozens of questions about it. in the end i let him drive it and he booked his own car in that same day.
My advice is to ask around for anyone in your area who has the same car with this map on it and see if they will take you for a drive.
If you were in my area you could take mine out and see for yourself.

Just as a point of interest I got 140,000 miles out of the original clutch on my 97 Ibiza Cupra 16V... and the car was caned regularly :)

(It was heavy as hell from about 55k onwards though but i got used to that no problem... even though my left thigh is now twice as thick as my right one)
