wil an amp work with nor remote cable?

hi i recently installed amp in my ibiza 20vt but i didnt think i needed the remote cable installed, but amp didnt work i just put this down to it being old but someone said it would probably work if i wire up remote cable as well? anyone got anymore info on this?

The remote cable switchs the amp on when the stereo is on, without 12v on that input the amp will never switch on.

umm I thought there was a remote lead...if not then take a feed from the ignition power lead

Wire it from the back of your HU. It'll be a blue wire.
