I got Valeo wipers last time, but I don’t rate them compared to Bosch. Bosch lasted a lot longer

Been wiping with the same Valeo set for about 3 and a half years now. Still perfect. Either Bosch or Valeo are fine, as long as you maintain them with some WD40 every once in a while, and apply some spray wax to the window.

Chaps,

Its that time again to replace the window wipers.

I always tend to go towards Bosch but I've got to say, I wasnt very impressed with my last set.

Any recommendations?
I've just fitted a Bosch kit - A350S. Seems good so far.

Leon needs 650 & 400mm.

I happened to find the Bosch kit cheaper than the Valeo kit on ebay. If the Valeo would have been cheaper I would have got that.

I change the wipers at least annually-before winter- they’re not expensive and vision is as important as grip.
I replace them when they just start to show signs of wear. My 2010 Mk.2 Leon did 100k and I never had to replace either of the front blades, they were still perfect when I sold it in 2019 because of which I now buy from the dealer as I find the clips always secure slightly better..

Euro car parts have 40% off at the moment if anyone is still looking
They always have 40% off ;)
I usually find the best price by searching the part number on ebay.
I often find ECP have a cheaper price on ebay than they do on their own website!!

Fair enough, had a few bad experiences on eBay so I personally avoid unless I can’t get the parts anywhere else.

edit: I’ve just had a look on eBay, £10 cheaper even with the offer ?‍♂️. Think I might be sending them back and reordering elsewhere ?

I have brought loads from ebay over the years, maybe I have been 'lucky'? but i've only ever had 1 issue a few years ago and that was with a fake memory card - looking back it was obviously a fake and too cheap for a sandisc! Paypal were good in quickly refunding the small amount of money.

Sellers with large and top ranking feedback rating should be trustworthy and have a scan at some of their recent feedback - and as you've noted I often find large retailers on their with cheaper prices than their own websites and continual discounts of their inflated prices.

ECP do better prices on the phone or in person than the website, that’s just a con to draw you in, ex ECP employee.

Yep, 40% off an overly inflated 'list' price is not much of a deal in my mind
ECP price for Bosch Aerotwin front set for my car 'discounted' price £27.83, Amazon Prime price £20.40 with next day delivery.
