I wonder if a twin turbo setup producing 500bhp and high torque 400lbs ft+ is possible revving to 7000rpm but altering the final drive so that it could still do 180-190mph.
 
To put the figures into perspective one of the m3 drivers towards the end said he just managed to get through at 162mph at the timing beam, i was off the clock at 160 mph halfway down the main straight and then your just sitting at 160mph for about .5 of a mile. Terminals were the same but you get in an IHI'd ibiza to your 162mph a lot quicker time wise/distance wise.

Also a chipped vx220 turbo did 150mph vmax, it just shows IHI'd Ibizas are quick, a Wr1 scooby managed 155mph.
