Women drivers!!!!!!

Sounds like it was her fault alrighty,

Obviously let your insurance know fill out the accident report, but what ever you do DON'T put on the form you saw her and knew she was going to do it, cos if it goes to court, as it mostly surely will, and her brief can make it look like you were partiaally at fault they will as sure as eggs are eggs...

Trust me on this I've had done done to me, when a senile old fart pulled out on a r/bout in 03' and smashed the crap outta my immaculate 306xsi,

I went thru his insurance and he just wouldn't admit liability, and my insurance tried to make me 50% at fault, but i stuck by my guns and told them in no uncertain terms where to go, it went to court a year later and i got fully rembursed, retained my ncb aswell.

So take the soppy bint to the cleaners matey, it'll be worth it, if you've not got a protected ncb.

I'm sure not all women drivers are shite, but it does seem to be the fairer sex at least round these parts that cause all the grief on the roads, so why the statistics say they are better drivers is just beyond beleif....

Cheers for all the top threads guys/gals. I called her last night to make sure she was ok and not shook up (and because my insurance company couldnt get hold of her and asked me to try) but she was really worried about wether i was injured or had whiplash..............I said im fine but just want my car fixed quick.

The issue of which group of drivers are most likely to be involved in accidents is indesputable i feel however, it does not mean all young drivers are bad. im 23 (do i still count as a young driver?), been driving 6 and a 1/2 years and not had an accident, point on my license or fine yet.

When I'm driving around I am ALWAYS thinking about what the other cars around me are doing and anticipating what they are going to do next and I have to say, it has saved me from having several accidents. I get really angry because I can see what people are going to do before they do it, things like people cutting across lanes on roundabouts so they effectively go in a straight line, even though i am directly on their inside!!! it makes my blood boil.....AAAARRRGGHHHHH (turns green and rips shirt)

Anyway, rant over :) happy driving people, im off to fix my temperature sensor.

Wasnt undertaking, I tried to pull left but there was a metal railing. she just didnt see me (blind spot I guess) was both traveling at bout 24 mph.

The road splits into two lanes at a set of lights but just before the lights there is a left turn. She was in wrong lane.

she wasnt old she was bout 40ish

something i was thinking, if she hit your drivers door, rear door and rear quarter, then you were not in her 'blind spot'. you were most likely slightly ahead of her?

females actually have a higher accident rate per mile travelled.
however, men on average drive more miles which more than compensates for the 'lower accident per mile ratio'.

however its the average cost of an accident thats the main difference between men and women.
mens repairs, on average are more expensive.
this is partly down to the roads we travel on, (women use lower speed local roads more) as well as not being so agressive typically.

men have more accidents where no other car is involved... eg driving too fast and not making it round a corner... or due to aggressive driving. eg overtaking.
females tend to have more accidents (or 'knocks') due to issues manouvering... eg lane changes, junctions, parking, hesitation etc etc.

overall, women have 'knocks' men have 'smashes'.

and this is why, if you have an accident on your record that was NOT your fault will still make a difference to your premiums.
there are many many driver who have lots of accidents and complain "none of them were my fault, im just unlucky".
No, your not unlucky, your poor at anticipating accidents or avoiding them. You are therefore, as proven by your history, a higher risk.

Gender and age have absolutely **** all to do with driving skill.

The only thing that makes someone a bad driver, is being careless or unaware. That applies to young, old, male and female.

The older you get, the more confident - or perhaps more relaxed when it comes to driving? The younger you are, the more inexperienced - or perhaps more cautious?

You can look at it any way you want really. The important thing is that the accident wasn't serious.

subtle difference also in the fact that 'most' 70 year old dears can spell perfectly well , whilst admittedly ,possibly getting a tad confused in this ever changing world
