obviously not a straight swap, big money difference, but this really caught my eye. The new VW Golf R Cabriolet, 265PS, 350Nm Torque, 0-62 in 6.4, top end 155mph, combined 34.4 mpg

or could get a TDI and put the R kit on it, but they only do the slow 140ps in TDI on these

Liked it until realising it was a rag top. Yes to the R. No to the rag top. No to the diesel.

dont you like the fabric roof ? I find the metal folding roofs means leaving a long tailgate for it to fold in to.

i think it looks fantastic ?

Just looks like a butchered Golf. Partly down to liking the original lines of the standard Golf.

Because it's a rag top it will have big steel strengthening beams in the floor. This will make it heavy and upset the handling just so that you can have the roof down for 5 days of the year.

Nope.

No not in a million years all rag top convertibles look utter **** be it a golf or a Lamborghini I'd never own one , golf R then yes the Leon would be gone but the price are stupid

Only? What about the ridic price!!

Lol well it will be top of the range comes with all the extras etc. the dealers charge 2000 just for a cup holder when buying new. Doesn't surprise me it being expensive. Rich daddy's will be buying there daughters these lol. Then again you could buy a range rover sport brand new for near that couple year ago.
