right guys received and installed this bit of kit today and i must say its bang on!! plugs directly into your cd changer port from the rear of the radio and even i have managed it so it must be easy!

brought the wire round the front here to make the unit sit in the compartment nicely.

sits perfect in here allowing you to plug your usb in and also on this latest version the sd card slot!!

it allows you to control the tracks and folders via your head unit and the sound quilty is what you would hear from a CD,

Looks pretty good that, just had a read on the website too. May be a better solution the iPod link which does the same thing. To skip forward to the next track i have to skip forward two, wait for the track to start then skip back one to get the one i'm after

How does it work when you have more than 6 albums on the flash drive?

I'm thinkin of sellin me MP3 disc changer and connects to for something like this.

And to let you know you can get the lead through the back of the cubby hole properly if you pull that plastic part out like your accessing the fuses.

this skips tracks like a normal cd player, on the usb sticj you just create 6 folders which act as a cd. i got a 2gb usb drive from play.com for 10 quid

Mine came without the SD slot. Hmm.

I must have a faulty one. Mine has to go back this weekend for a replacement. Does some Weird stuff. Only selects between 2 "CDs" and skips several tracks at once. Tried with several different USB sticks/Cards and my Creative Xen MP3 player. Bum.

The technician at Xcarlink thinks it may be that it's not compatible with my headunit. I'll point them towards this thread :D

did anyone have any problems with theirs at first? Would rather not go through the hassle of sending it back if anyone has any ideas to try.

Cheers all.

These look fantastic. If I didn't have the Phatbox myself I'd be buying one.

I can't help but think that this time next year, there will be various substitutes at half the price though.

just been on the website really would like one of these so i can get rid of the cd changer which one would you suggest, i have a ipod and also usb memory sticks,

just to confirm...if you have say 2000 tracks on a usb stick can you access them all? ie are all tracks contained within the 6 folders?

or is there a limit like 99 tracks per folder or something?

Thanks, Jim

where do you get these from i had a quick look but couldnt find where to get one? My cd changer doesnt work so id quite like this in its place
