Id never done a proper log in third gear - was a bit difficult as i had cars in front of me on the motorway and it was peeing down yesterday aswell but got a solid log - i was getting the posisitive deviation error coming up all the time before- now i changed a few pipes(samco), the error has not returned and car seems to give a little more pull - but obviously still not fully - giving stealers a bell now for a price/availability. As always. thanks guys!

well what gear do you do logs in when you have to? redline in 4th would be touching 115-120mph

4th gear provides sufficient load to ensure you'll actually request max boost - as well as a long enough run to get a lot of samples.

yes, it's fast - but in all honesty - you're wasting your time doing in 2nd & 3rd - it's over in a flash

right acid, lets have it out then.......lol - yea i noticed the slight difference/abnormality - but fingers crossed and all that

yea Lee, i rang them about 15 mins ago - not trying to sound insulting but guy didnt seem too with it and his responce was "we only do whole engines" - which is strange for a breakers but o well, new southgate it is then..

with regards to swapping N75 - it took me about 40 mins to fight the clips off my the N75 valve whilse praying i didnt snap the thing - wouldnt contemplate removing the clips from someone elses -

I made a special trip out this morning to do VAG-COM logs on those blocks but the laptop battery is dodgy and it died just before the end of the frst log. I have borrowed it to try and get some runs but unfortunately I might have to wait until I receive the cigarette lighter power supply I ordered from ebay today. We did hae a check round all the pipes and listened for any boost leaks but can't find any so I'm just waiting with baited breath to see the VAG-COM logs. The only bonus is that even though I missed the rolling road day I arranged, I've been offered a free run at an open day on another rolling road on the 16th. I hope I can get it sorted by then.
The only confusing thing is that surely if the ecu knows how much boost it's requested and how much it's getting then wouldn't it throw up a fault?

I managed to get a run out of the laptop battery but only did blocks 115 and 118...

The engine load concerns me a little peaking at 140% - is this alright? As you can see, actual boost is down on requested, although requested isn't as high as acidstrato's and I don't know what it equates to in psi. Also, with regards to the boost, how come it dips at mid-range revs and then comes back again (both requested and actual)??
With regards to N75, the load is lower than I'd have thought except at 2000rpm - could this be because it's not getting the boost?
The only good thing I can see is the intake temps but then it's not working at full boost. What do you make of it guys?

Funny you come up with this.

Ive just had my car rolling roaded on saturday & got 179.2 BHP & 191 lb/ft torque.

Not bad you might think but then my car is an Ibiza R which standard is 180BHP!!!:wtf:

Anyway the guy at JKM said that my car is running really rich which is either the result of the re-map or there are some underlying problems. The guy at JKM did also say that as a result of this im losing a minimum of 15-20BHP because its pumping too much fuel in at top end.

Now what I need to work out is if its from the re-map or if its an unrelated problem?

The only other thing is that if the guy at JKM said that because of this im losing 15-20BHP that must mean that the re-map should be working as the car is 180BHP standard? If im losing 15-20HP then that would take it near 200BHP which certainly isnt the book figure.

So im really confused on what to think on this, I cant get the car checked at cos its having the alloys re-furbished & I wont get it back till friday.

The car was fooked before but i changed the MAF last week & that made a load of difference. But I still need to find out whats causing the car to run rich.

I'd say that's about how mine feels but I didn't go to my rolling road day as I thought there was no point.
Do you have a boost gauge?

No see this is the problem.

Previously the car had been slow (16.5 sec 1/4 mile back in sept). Anyway because I had no vagcom & no boost gauge I couldnt really tell what was wrong.

When you think something is wrong you cant be 100% sure without the proof know what I mean? So me just thinking Ive got used to the car & decided to get it mapped.

After getting it mapped it was pulling agressively but then died off again. I replaced the MAF last week which made a huge difference. After getting RR'd on saturday I was a little dissapointed that the figures were low yet I was still happy with the way the car is going.

The car its self has never been so good since Ive had it but the Guy at JKM (the RR place) said Im losing 15-20BHP.

If I had a boost gauge I think I would of identified a problem much much earlier.

Im still new to all this, Ive only had the car 6 months & because I dont know any other cupra drivers Ive only ever experienced what mine drives like so never know any different?

Dan, could it be that the car was mapped to a dodgy maf?
1st port of call is you need to go back to them and ask them to check it out. They should be able to tell you what's going.

T7ODD, I'd say the same to you as what's been said to Dan. It's strange that you've both got the same map and both seem to be having similar problems.

I made a 6 hour round trip to get mapped so that could be a problem. I went away thinking it was the MAF that was the issue.
I'm going to log the timing pull and the MAF values on the way home tonight. I wont be able to post the full rsults but I'll be able to say whether they looked abnormal or not.
It could be just a coincidence. I know mine feels slightly better than standard and it's pulling 10psi, rather than 8 psi lol whereas Dan's is just making standard figures. Shame you can't do some VAG-COM logging Dan.
Could it be anything like lambda sensors? I'm still curious about my low N75 duty.

SlimJim...are you around Exeter / Marsh Barton area on Wednesday at all? If it looks from these results like I need to test another N75 valve then that would be great. Thanks.
