2006 Ibiza FR TDI Fuel

Hi

I am about to make a couple of 700mile round trips in my 130bhp TDI FR

I have been using shell deisel since I got the car, tried V power a couple of times, and has increased economy.
I was wondering if anyone had used bp ultimate deisel and got any better results that about 3 mpg extra over standard deisel?

the journey im doing is practically all 6th gear cruisin at 80, so to finance the v power, need to average 3mpg more to make the fuel worth while

Maybe better posting this one in the tdi section. Someone with a vw or skoda 130pd engine might be aqble to help. Ive only ran mine on shell diesel and sainsburys own (crap).

It's only come out recently, but it's hugely expensive round here. More expensive than V Power petrol the last time I looked.

yeh

my local shell garages sell V power deisel, its great stuff, on some websites reckons doesnt really boost cars with 80bhp, but cars with 200bhp, adds up to 40bhp, some im hoping on my 135bhp adds 10 - 15bhp.

Seems to love pulling alot more with V power in, and also increased economy, so all good

It's only come out recently, but it's hugely expensive round here. More expensive than V Power petrol the last time I looked.

I e-mailed Shell and they said they're V power range should be between 5-7ppl more than the standard fuels they sell, weather thats petrol or deisel

Is the V-power stuff only available in certain parts of the country?

I've never seen it in the North East.

This has been discussed quite a lot on my forum, i always when possible use Shell, in my opinion the fuel has been better than other places, especially supermarkets, whether this is actually true i do not know.

The closest place that sells this new shell vpower diesel to me is fcuking milton keynes will have to wait till our local place does it before i try it

ECU's generally take about 100miles to reset or adjust themselves to different driving patterns / fuels etc so shouldnt take too long

Looking on a website, i reckon it adds about 15-20bhp to a 130bhp car, so alls well! also increases economy but Shell dont claim it (I e-mailed and asked a representative of Shell)

The only 2 garages that seem to do V power deisel in MK are the two at Bleakhall

In Stacey Bushes or Newport Pagnell, they tried to tell me it wasnt even available anywhere, or didnt know what i was talking about, so I made him ring up Bleakhall to teach him a lesson!

V-Power has only just come out over here, and they don't offer Diesel "as yet" can't wait. The cheapest v-power is i think 97.9 ppl where as normal shell petrol is about 94-95ppl
