Does the undertray come in offside / nearside? New one on me.
Totally excessive pricing. You agreed to the work being done?

It's in three pieces (at least it is on the Toledo which I'm sure is the same) offside/nearside/centre section. Didn't realise my centre bit was missing when I bought the car. Part cost about £22 I think and dealer fitted it free as it was in for a service. The smaller side sections are about £17 I think. That's why £80 to do a side one is a joke. It is literally a 1 minute job.

i agreed to let them do the priority bits. Brakes, brake fluid, cv boot etc. set me back £630. I will be getting the rest done privately.

With respect Mike, that was a little more than just a normal service that you had :)

Koni FSD's etc etc

Keith

It was indeed as highlighted in another post. Top job and apologies if misunderstood. Still a big bill and sets me back on the MK4 R32 target

Wish I'd had the eibach springs too... D'oh!

Certainly sounds like you're getting ripped off there mate...

But then I check all my lights/bulbs regularly - and always carry some spares around.
Brake fluid for £65 - if that was just for the fluid itself then they're having a laugh. If its for the changing of the fluid as well then it's a *little* closer to being acceptible.

TBH a lot of the stuff you've listed are consumables anyway, so it's not like it's an unreliable car etc. If you took a different car to the same garage, they'd probably charge you the same.

I'd definately argue about those prices - and the fact that they investigated a "light" on the dash that you've never seen.... they should, if they are a good garage, mention it to you before they go ahead and do the work.

I'm always asked if i want to go ahead with any work on my car before it is carried out... at my 60k service I needed a new gaitor/boot - but JKM phoned me, gave me the quote, and asked if I wanted it done before they did it. :)

Find another garage mate!
