I keep going round in circles with my thoughts on BF.... To start with, the build quality issues really put me off, then I was assured those were sorted so I started to warm to the idea again. Now the customer service issue keeps coming up, along with new (rattle) quality issues.

The price of them alone almost makes them worth a punt, but now companys like Piper are developing an exhaust, BF are going to find it much harder to compete. Piper's quality is always spot on, customer service is great and their prices are always good too.

Bang on Rob.
I can handle the suspect quality (dodgy welding, cracking, rattles, noisey ovals etc) if they put it right when you reported it, but they dont, they just fob you off.
If I hadnt already bought it, I would now be waiting to see what other companies come up with.

My advice to people thinking about changing their exhausts is hang on for a while and do your research !!

Well I hope for the guys that have done the group buy that they have rectified the issues. In fairness (not that it should matter) I bought my system probably 18mnths ago, so things might have changed by now, but generally I thought that BF were pretty shocking to deal with..............:)

Maybe Nigel should start joining these forums and check out what people think, but from what I've heard recently, they cant even be bothered to answer their :censored: phone !!!.........lol

lol i must be lucky then, as everytime I have called I have always got an answer or at least someone has picked up the phone

maybe 18months on there customer service has improved a little....I emphasise on the word little

although i cannot judge as this is the first time I have dealt with BF, but their failure to set all of our expectations on the GB thread has been a little frustrating to say the least

I can onlu hope:)

Keep up us updated HarveyGTI... you obviously want this to work out as much as we do for you, but I'm sure I'm not alone in being interested in the outcome :)

tell me about it Rob, especially when I have the money ready and waiting:cry:

having always had S/S exhaust on every car I have had - Superspint, magnex, jetex, I know what good quality is

Never gone with a bespoke system before, so lets hope its as good as the more well known brands

Your getting me abit worried now:blink: lol

I'm not local to BF so i can't just pop in if I have a problem with anything.

But I think it is okay now that's why I'm taking the plunge ;)

I think the people that had the problems was the first batch of people on the first group buy which was nearly 2 years now I think.

So all the issue's came up then, which have now filtered down to BF have been redesigned.

Dude, how can it be spot on if it hangs low and the weld is blowing ?

Not to mention the fact that this exhaust managed to get past quality control. I mean, surely exhausts like this that cost hundreds of pounds will at least be checked and tested before being sent out to the paying customer?

It is the smallest pinprick hole in one of the joins, not really visble apart from the black exhaust deposit, when the cars up on the ramp. Yes the back box sits a little low for my taste in the rear bumper, but not by much. If it was anything major id have fixed it but it really isn't that bad. ive seen a lot worse systems, the blueflame one compartivley looks very good.
