When in the dealers the other day ordering the new cars I got chating to the head sales bloke I was given some interesting news.

There is speculation among the dealers as Seat have mentioned the Cupra will be getting tarted up in the near future as at the moment is doesn't really stand out from the Leon range for being the top model. The thought with the dealer is Seat will be dropping in the 4wd system from an R32 and tweaking the 2.0T engine to get even more power.

But all this was guess work from the dealers so it might not happen or even be true.
Anyone heard anything similar?

Funny that i went to Le mans at the weekend with a sales guy for SEAT and all he kept saying when i mocked the Cupra was, yeah we keep getting told the Cupra is just the first incarnation, there will be a facelift soon.

I think the facelift is a possibility but the 4wd system with the associated costs of type approval vs potential sales in the Uk would mean (like the Mk1 Leon) it's unlikely.

That's without exploring the possible impact on other VAG premium brands R32 / S3 / TT which I guess are a priority over SEAT

it would be intresting to find out as I would def hold out ordering mines if this was the case but to be perfectly honest i cant see there being a 4wd version as this would just be a reshelled S3 in many senses same engine same drive train, so at the end of the day i very much doubt it

but id still love to find out if there will be a facelift model before i order mines
