total noob question but, where is the standard air filter, and how do i clean it...saw a pic of a guys who was COVERED in muck only after a few thousand miles, and has got me curious as to cleaning it out..pictures will be helpful

thanks, adam!

I know that with green air filter you literally shake it to get all the carp off and then spray it with a green cleaning spray.

You might aswell buy a green filter mate and replace it with that. You get a deeper sound which is cool.

where in the engine bay is it though? is it easy enough to get to?

The big box on the right (above the battery) has 4 screws which you simply unscrew and the black box cover just comes off. You will see the air filter there.

Take it out and give it a shake, or blow it through with an air-line.

Better really to replace it as they're not much money and not designed to be cleaned.

The standard ones are not re-usable. They are designed to be used for the length of time between each service, and then replaced with a new one.

As already said though... get yourself a Green filter and then each time you service it, just use the Green cleaning kit to renew it :)
