k&n typhoon ibiza cupra

[20 valve ted]

hi to all,
im quite new to the fourum and have only had my ibiza cupra about a month. after sorting out all the problems with it (ext temp sensor, smashed drivers mirror swapped for stubby, passenger leccy window motor) ive ordered k&n typhoon just wonderin if any1 else has 1 and if so what they think of it. iv tried searching but not found anything.

only reason iv ordered it is because of the 1 my bro has on his y reg polo gti sounds imense!!!! only 1 prob gotta wait 6 weeks!!

Bad news, as they heavily oil the filter which very often causes problems with the MAF.

id be more worried about the oil breather sytem fkcing the maf than the filter.......

if you get the kit your looking at give it a wash/dry if your concerned to get the excess oil out the filter, they are oil mothers ......

Yeah i'd have no problem with the k+n.

i had a k&n filter on mine for a while and it was fine, gone back to standard box with green panel filter now though

i went back to standard with green panel filter ages ago to try and protect the life of my maf, has quietened the dv a fair bit but works fine.
The k&n worked fine whilst i had it on there but i was told at the time they were quite oily and didnt want to take the chance tbh

so if the filter is to oily then i could just change filter on the end of the pipe and should have no probs right?

if it is a bit oily just give it a clean - job done

got it off the german bay 38 quid inc delivery but had to transfer monies into his bank from mine which cost 7 quid. il find the guy i got it off now

no worries mate. youll have to go into the bank to transfer the money which is a bit of a ball ache but delivery was quick

you will have a whooshy dv with a open cone yes

i ran i k&n for 15,000 miles with no maf problems at all, just dont over oil it and it will be fine
