General opinion generally sways towards Goodyear F1/GSD3, or Toyo T1R.

Personally I've been using the Toyo T1R for a while now, first on the Ibiza and now on the Passat and have been very pleased with them...

for the price the toyos are spot on. the best tyre i've had on the cupra so far (compared to pzero nero's and rainsports). cant comment on the goodyears though.

For the price difference id get the toyos ahead of the gsd3's

Just a suggestion but I had to buy two tyres for the 130 tdi the other day and used blackcircles.com for the first time, very very good experience, bought the tyres on the tuesday, fitted on the thursday, very good value for money too.

You select your tyre, the price is all in, fitting etc and then you choose a fitting centre from their recommended list, just show up and sorted.

Plus you get money back on ********s etc and discounts next time around.

dont worry im not working for them but always find buying tyres a mare especially as the stealers and 'quick' fitters generally take the p**s

What I usually do is get the best price from the online suppliers, then take it to a local tyre dealer for them to match it :)

Thanks for the Feedback.

Can i ask i more thing, i was looking at Michelans they where 2 205/45/16s one was W rated and is £108 and the other was V rated and it was 80-odd will this make a difference ?

My car has W rated at the minute. V are rated up to 149 mph.

Cheers
JJ

I'm finding that the wear rate of the Goodyear GSD3s is better than the wear rate of the Toyos. The performance of the two is nearly identical - maybe the Toyos have the slight edge, but not enough to make me want to go back to them. I'll be using the GSD3s from now on - the combination of performance and acceptable wear rate is perfect.

yeah i use blackcircles too and it's ace, flawless service and good prices

i have the goodyears on the front and they're a million times better than the falken ZE512's i went with first time round - they just dissolved, it was pathetic. i'll be going with the toyo's next time though for the price and the good reviews they keep getting!

I am using toyo t1-r front and Gsd3 rear. Excellent and would not change for any other.:D

Did you have the Toyo T1R or T1S ?

My originals were Pirelli PZero Neros, got 14500miles out of them but it was due to excessive wear on the inside after I knockd the tracking out! I found the Pirellis lacked the grip of the Toyos and the Toyos are also a great deal quieter!

My GSD3's are lasting surprisingly long. I would have thought that I would have had to think about replacing them by now but its nowhere near to it.

The wear on the GSD3's is very impressive.
