hi every one i hade a few problems with my new ibiza cupra wich i picked it up on the 25th of october 2008 first it was the gear nob they put the wrong one on and when i isked about it they sait it was 6gears bt i found out later that it was 5 gears which i already know then it was the under seal which was not done properly, than i found a couple of bolts missing from the rear mud guard, now there is a noise comming on full lock and a noise comming from the cluch plate when on idle and lifting of from the cluch, engine when on idle the neadle moves very lightly up and down. has any one had any similar problems like this is it common on the ibiza cupra's i love the car but these problems are a joke i should not have these problems on a new car like this can people please help and give me some advice. thank you:censored:[:@]

But you dont get till next october so how can anything be wrong with it :bleh:

Mate, as much as I was going to say its impressive he has a broken car he hasnt even got for nearly another year, some advice might have be nice aswell imho.

Anyway the simple answer is warranty tbh, thats what its there for.

Looking at your profile you have the 20vT in which case yeah, 5 speed box, so book it in, tell them the gearnob is a 6 speed, im sure even seat techs can count to 6 and realise your isnt.

When you say underseal did you take it back again? Have you actually booked it in for any of thoese problems you have mentioned? If your normal/local dealer isnt much help, try another in the area, or just cut to the mustard and get onto Seat UK if they arent helpful.

First thing is first, tell the dealer your problems (with the car ;) )

Good luck

welcome to scn mate!

very sorry to hear about your early bad exsperience hope you dont have a lemon!
but as every1 else has stated is a simple case of warranty work but the above problem sound like new 1's to me!

I ment 2007 and i did go back to a dealer but not the one that i bouth it from i turned out the first thing was the cv boot because they changed it from rubber to plastick that was the frist noise then i found out the reason the engine moves more than usual they put a stablising bar behind the engine and they szaid if there was not that much move ment the engine will snap the manifoldso all in all it was just me being fussy abouth the few problems but it stll dont change the fact that seat dealers are **** and they dont do there job properly apart from parts i done the under seal my self in the end and still waiting for the 5 speed gear nob but still no luck

my local dealer is awful.... next monday is 3 months i have been arguing with them for over my headlights and im not giving in until they fix them! I know them steaming up is a common problem but they apparantly have already replaced them and the one i know that was definately replaced is fine so they can do the other one again to fix it!

If your having problems with your car, read the warranty.

Then when you speak with the guy on the service desk you are fully aware of what it covers and cannot be fobbed off with lame excuses.

If he insist with giving lame excuses, "6 speed looks better than 5", "you don't need underseal unless your taking the car swimming" etc then just ask to speak to the dealer principle.

Do not forget, be firm, be fair and be polite.

Good luck and welcome.

if you're entitled to it you're entitled to it, thats the idea of the warranty!!

Get back there and as mr cellotape said, be firm and do your homework!
