Has anyone seen or heard of the CURRENT production of a mk2 Cupra WITHOUT the Bi-Xenon headlights?

I know there's rumours of one coming out next year with the option of the Bi-Xenons, I'm talking about cars that are already built and indeed on the road.

Please don't mention this to my dealer before I can speak to them when they re-open after christmas!

110 views and no-one has seen one?!
Guess someone was having a bad day at the factory then?

From what I understand the Cupra comes with Xenons as standard and, once you have experienced them well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never did, and as an £850 option on the FR I am probably pleased :D :(:(

If you know what I mean

OK my friend. I know you are able to give some of the best prices around and if I was seriously looking at buying a CUPRA you would be one of the first people I would come to for a quote. However...................

You being in the trade and all................ without me having to trawl in my christmas drunkan state at this time in the morning :D:D is the new list price you quote actually £850 cheaper than the current list price

Theres a few changes, including loss of xenons and therefore a decrease in cost, however there is also a general price increase ... so it wont be 850 cheaper because of the other increases.

Read this as it explains it a lot easier :) http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=150134

Doesn't look like it's from January!
I'll post more when I've spoken to my dealer.

Irfan, do you have anything in writing from Seat saying that the Xenons are being stopped?
If you do, any chance of scanning and sending it to me please?

Chris

yes the changes have been confirmed and yes i do have it in writing but im not able to scan and send it to you im afraid

it is from january on factory orders but the cupra's that are about at the moment will cost 19995 for the standard car

Xenon has always been an option for Cupras sold in Denmark.

Most Cupras are sold without Xenon due to the hefty price of the Xenons.
Xenon on a danish spec'ed Cupra is 18434,- dkr. ~ £1750 extra...

would be a lot easier if you said why you are asking all these questions!

Yes, your right!
But, I wanted to speak to the dealer when they re-opened after christmas before I vented my fury on here.

Mine was ordered mid october, built week 47/48. I picked it up on 22-12-07 and it doesn't have Xenon's.

The current catalog (new one was due on 21/22nd december apparently) still states that it comes with Xenon's as does the Seat website.

Obviously not the dealers fault as they are in the dark as much as I am.
Just waiting for Seat to get back to the dealer.

To be honest I don't think that Seat have a leg to stand on as it was ordered mid october, and the changes have only just been announced.

Irfan, what date was on the letter that you received about the changes?

Thanks.

Do you know what build date yours was?
Possibly an import I guess.
How can you find out?

How would I find the build date?

Mine was in the showroom with extras fitted so I just bought it. Don't know the actual build date but it has the newer black grill.

I would either refuse the car or expect a cash back deal if you can live without xenons. There must be something in the sale of goods act to assist you here. You obviously expected it to come with them as I expect everyone who chooses a cupra would. I would be very upset for mine not to have them, If you were previously aware of the changes you would have had the option to factory order them. Stand your ground and refuse the car.... get a replacement

I looked at the build date and assuming it's the same 'build date' that the dealer gave me to say when it's built. Then it works out to be 2 weeks before I even ordered it, 40 - 2007!

One of the main reasons I bought the Cupra was because of the Xenons, so for me their essential.

At the time of ordering the car, there hadn't been any mention of Cupra's not coming with Xenons. I certainly wasn't offered them as an option. Even dealers have only just found out that they arn't coming with them as of next year.
